Entry Requirements
(a) A bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Translation or related disciplines from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent;
(b)At least five years’ post-degree relevant experience in bilingual copywriting, editing or corporate communications. Previous journalistic experience is an asset;
(c)Excellent command of both spoken and written Chinese and English;
(d)Preference will be given to candidates with solid exposure to media relations and incident-related communications and a good understanding of the operation of media organizations; and
(e)Proficiency in common computer application software including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing etc.
Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend a written test.
Main Duties
Reporting to Senior Manager (Public Relations), the post-holder’s responsibilities include :
(a) To identify current and emerging issues relevant to the IPCC through daily media monitoring and analysis;
(b)To develop bilingual content for communication materials, including and not limited to copywriting, editing, translating and proofreading all corporate and promotional materials pursuant to the Council’s guidelines and strategies;
(c)To enhance and expand media networks, handle media enquiries and assist in preparing and disseminating responses in a timely manner;
(d)To assist senior officers in preparing papers, reports and in providing support to the Council, its committees and working groups in facilitation of IPCC’s performance of its statutory functions;
(e)To supervise and coach team members; and
(f)To perform any other duties as assigned from time to time.
(May be required to work outside normal office hours)
Remuneration and Benefits
The basic monthly salary is $58,635, plus a cash allowance at 5% of the basic salary. A successful candidate with substantial relevant experience may be offered a higher salary at an appropriate level. Fringe benefits include paid leave and medical and dental insurance. The appointment will be on contract terms for 3 years. Upon satisfactory completion of contract, the appointee will receive a gratuity (which includes the employer’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme) at 15% of the total basic salary received during the contract period.
