Job Description

Within Albemarle, Lithium is a large component of the overall company at over one billion dollars in net sales, and the company’s fastest growing line of business with mid double digit estimated growth across the Energy Storage, Industrials and Specialties markets. Lithium is playing a key role in powering the EV (electric vehicle) and eMobility evolution, fueling both transportation and consumer electronics technology advancement. 

The Strategy & Planning group is a key contributor to the Lithium business overall success, as this group works collaboratively across all of our lines of business, as well as functional areas, to develop the vision and path which shapes the business to help achieve its full potential, helps align the organization to succeed and communicates the strategy effectively to engage key internal and external stakeholders. It is an exciting time to join the team, as the Strategy & Planning organization is currently forming and initiating this important contribution.

The Sr. Manager, Strategy Alignment and Communication is a pivotal role on the Strategy & Planning team, responsible for assisting the VP Strategy & Planning in translating our 2030 vision and long-term strategy and communicating the strategy in a clear, concise and compelling way, effectively for all of our key internal and external stakeholders. This will involve:

Developing a strategic storyline, which will translate into a comprehensive messaging campaign and integrated communications plan.

Crafting an individual messaging campaign for all stakeholder groups, as well as developing customized communications materials.

Implementing a stakeholder engagement campaign, including the optimum mix of channels, forums and frequency.

Implementing a change management program (for example PROSCI ADKAR) to monitor effectiveness)

In addition, the Sr. Manager, Strategy Alignment and Communication will help the VP Strategy & Planning to:

Prepare for LiLT strategy meetings.

Project manage, administrate and execute the annual Lithium LT+ Global Meeting.

Prepare Board/Executive and external presentations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop a comprehensive messaging campaign and integrated communications plan for the Albemarle Lithium business.
• Implement a formal stakeholder engagement program and customized communications materials for engagement of all Stakeholder groups – internal and external, such as analysts, investors, Board, senior management, employees, plant management, customers and partners.
• Tracking effectiveness of Strategy Communications via a change management methodology (for example PROSCI ADKAR).
• Assist VP Strategy & Planning in preparing for and administrating LiLT strategy meetings.
• Project manage, administrate and execute the annual Lithium LT+ Global Meeting using ON24 or similar global virtual conference technology (Intrado, WorkCast, INXPO, BigMarker and VFairs), in conjunction with VP Strategy & Planning, CTO and IT.
• Prepare Board/Executive and external presentations as needed.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS  

• Bachelor or Master’s degree.
• 10 years plus work experience in strategic communications, either internal or agency, or ideally both.
• Leadership strategic communications initiatives with high impact & proven success.
• Highly creative, comfortable working with both strategic and technical topics and content, as well as

       subject matter experts across the organization.

• Excellent collaboration and influence without authority skills.
• Executive communication capability.
