Abbott Diagnostics Division is looking for a

Strategic Pricing Manager (m/f/d) Germany, Austria & Switzerland.

The position can be based in Wiesbaden/Germany, Vienna/Austria, Baar/Switzerland.

Guides, monitors, analyzes, and provides expertise on pricing and contract terms for the specified region for Abbott Diagnostic Division/ADD business for acquisition opportunities and major renewals. Leads Pricing and Inside Sales Contracting and Tender Management support teams in Germany, Austria & Switzerland.

Major Accountabilities:

  • Advises on deal pricing and contract terms for large and / or complex upcoming deals

  • Actively involved in key customer negotiations to drive and implement pricing strategies and targets

  • Utilizes Pricing Recommendation Tool (PRT, Price Indexing, etc.) to provide pricing guidance and maintain price integrity; builds “comparable” database

  • Leverages experience with past deals to provide expertise and generates competitive insights

  • Analyses impact of pricing and contract term decisions on deal EP and region / country profitability

  • Maintains price integrity for acquisition opportunities

  • Monitors pricing outcomes to track performance and price integrity within region / country

  • Performs Pricing Analytics to identify pricing trends that impact how to price future deals in the region / country

  • Sets Pricing Schedules annually for Product (assay, instrument, service, disposables) Pricing based on local knowledge in accordance with global requirements

  • Provides oversight on tender / RFP submissions

  • Enforces compliance of current contracts, including price increases and commitment adherence

  • Maintains pricing tools as required (PRT & VPT) and drives usage of new pricing system (Quote To Contract) and related training of the organization

  • Leads the deal approval process within the Region and with Area

  • Leads Commercial Gross Margin Improvement activities across the region

  • Leads the ADD DACH Pricing support team responsible for Cost-per-Result invoicing, customer rebates and respective accruals

  • Leads the Inside Sales/SalesOperations Team responsible for Contracting and Tender Management in ADD DACH

  • Collaborates with other Strategic Pricing Managers across EMEA and shares and reapplies best practices

Your Profile:

  • Minimum: Bachelor degree in Business administration, Finance/ Controlling or Engineering

  • Masters degree in Business administration or Economy desirable

  • Experience in healthcare industry, preferably laboratory diagnostics (in-vitro-diagnostics)

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in related commercial/financial role

  • Experience in customer facing / externally oriented roles

  • Experience in pricing strategy development and working with sales organization

  • Extensive understanding of P&L and how pricing and contract terms decisions impact deal profitability

  • Experience in change management

  • Ability to work effectively in matrix organizations

  • People management experience

  • Strong management and negotiation skills

  • Business fluent German and English language skills
