This is what truly matters to us. The Point-of-Care (POC) business develops and sustains systems for in vitro diagnostic (IVD) instruments for point of care and laboratory medical testing. Join our team now at Siemens Healthineers as the Head of Systems Development and Integration. This position is part of the R&D Franchise leadership team and reports to the R&D Franchise Head. As the Head of Systems Development and Integration you will be responsible for: Managing and developing a team of up to 50 engineers and scientists in multiple locations worldwide supporting the Franchises’ development initiatives Serving as a member of the R&D Franchise leadership team and contribute to the overall Franchise strategy with a strong focus on quality and delivery Developing and delivering electromechanical IVD instruments, including embedded and systems SW for use at the point of care. Partnering very closely with the assay and consumable development teams ensuring successful integration of all parts of the system to deliver a working solution for our customers. Partnering very closely with the SCM teams and contract manufacturing partners to ensure smooth and effective design transfer Ensuring all engineering work is done at the highest level of quality and all applicable engineering practices and standards are applied Coordinating across functions to resolve project impediments This position may suit you best if you are familiar with what is below, and would like to do develop your career with Healthineers: You have strong leadership abilities to manage and lead large teams of direct and non-direct reports in a matrixed organization You have a strong general engineering background in product development in the medical device or IVD space with a specialization in either SW or HW development You have successfully delivered large projects using external partnerships comprising a large offshore component You have excellent skills in communication, negotiation, influencing and enjoy presenting to senior/corporate management (executive presence) You can coordinate across disciplines and integrate all aspects of the business as they impact development projects including negotiation of scope, roles and responsibilities, timelines and resources You have strong analytical skills to assess situations and drive decision making You have experience providing strategic leadership to complex, diverse projects in the IVD space Required education, experience & skills: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience required; advanced degree strongly preferred 10+ years of experience leading product development organizations in medical devices or IVD Working knowledge of FDA, ISO, IVDD and IVDR regulations desired At Siemens Healthineers, we value those who dedicate their energy and passion to a greater cause.
