Eaton’s Corporate Sector is currently hiring for a Manager of Benefits Accounting position. This position will be based out of Beachwood, OH location with a flexible hybrid remote schedule available. Position Overview: In this role, you will be responsible for the oversight of Eaton's global Defined Benefit Pension and Other Post Employment Medical Benefit Plans including accounting and forecasting. In this function you will: Responsible for monthly defined benefit pension, other post-employment medical benefit plans, long-term disability and deferred compensation accounting for US locations. Assist in the forecasting and annual planning related to these plans. Manage preparation of General Ledger reconciliations and support for auditor requests. Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual pension and other comprehensive income footnote information for 10Q/K. Manage year-end processes including reconciling books to actuarial valuations, summarizing, and providing activity to international locations, global consolidation of results. Assist in calculation of allocations for plans globally. Provide actuarial information and expertise to management including projections of US GAAP pension expense and balance sheet as needed. Manage annual profit plan process. Analyze the impact of proposed legislative changes (funding and accounting) for management as well as ensuring that approved changes are accounted for properly. Assist with merger, acquisition and divestiture activity involving global defined benefit, post-retirement medical plans, long-term disability and deferred compensation plans. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance / Actuarial Science / Mathematics required 5-7 years defined benefit pension consulting or accounting experience No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Beachwood, OH will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future Preferred Qualifications: Strong communication, analytic, problem solving, and customer service skills Organizational skills to ensure that all outstanding issues have been resolved in a timely and accurate manner Knowledge of defined benefit and post retirement employee benefit plan accounting and regulations. Ability to stay informed of legislative developments related to these plans. Familiarity with financial systems and processes (Oracle, SAP, FCCS, HRMS), leveraging systems capabilities and associated controls to ensure well controlled projects Strong knowledge of accounting and internal controls Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications, especially Excel and Access programming Expertise with US GAAP pension accounting What you’ll get from us: We provide benefits that are industry competitive and focused on employee well-being.
