The Opportunity

Avenues: The World School is excited to announce an opportunity for a Manager of Campus Communications to join the Shenzhen campus. The Manager of Campus Communications is a key member of the campus team who ensures that parents and colleagues are communicated with in timely, relevant and effective ways. This role works closely with the head of school and campus leadership to provide strategic communications counsel, and will refine and implement processes that result in effective and streamlined communications to parents and colleagues. This role also helps to promote and strengthen the Avenues brand and tell the Avenues story through effective PR and marketing.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Manager of Campus Communications will include:

• Execute a communications program that yields high levels of parent and colleague satisfaction
• Edit and disseminate communications to parents and colleagues including weekly division and Head of School's bulletins, health letters and other group communications
• Ensure all communications in the school, regardless of their origin, are elegantly and compellingly written with a consistent tone and format
• Provide strategic communications counsel to campus and division leadership teams
• Work closely with Global Director of Communications to evaluate and refine communications program as warranted, understanding Avenues seeks alignment across campuses
• Partner with academic divisions to support their use of proven communications practices and appropriate technologies
• Manage parent and colleague communication channels that include portals, multipurpose messaging apps, and/or social media
• Draft feature articles promoting Avenues for distribution on WeChat and other channels
• Collaborate with communications and marketing colleagues to execute a successful PR and earned media strategy
• Help evaluate and refine the global communications program

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge and experience with internal and customer communications. Experience communicating with parents preferred
• Energized by Avenues' mission and opportunity for impact in education
• Fluent in English and Chinese
• Ability to write clearly for a variety of audiences and across multiple mediums in Chinese and English
• Superb editing, proofreading and formatting skills
• A problem-solving approach, including in ambiguous situations that require figuring out new solutions rather than taking predetermined paths to success
• Ability to lead effectively through relationships, persuasion and influence
• Journalism, public relations or strategic communications experience a plus
• A customer service, client-oriented attitude
