Job Description

Radiation Detection Technology & Methods is a new, interdisciplinary, international peer-reviewed journal. We publish original, high-quality research on subjects including nuclear electronics, detectors, nuclear imaging and monitoring techniques, computer and control techniques, accelerator technology, and radiation protection. We are currently recruiting a Managing Editor to lead development and handle daily operations for the journal. This position will be based at the journal’s Editorial Office, at the Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHEP), Beijing.
The position includes:
Overall management and development of journal workflow
Day-to-day handling of editorial work, including initial assessment of manuscripts and checking of final proofs
Assisting the Editors-in-Chief in inviting manuscripts and arranging peer review
Attending relevant academic conferences and seminars to promote the journal, build connections with the community, and stay abreast with the latest developments in the field, raising the overall quality and recognition of the journal. The successful candidate should meet the following requirements:
Essential
PhD in nuclear science and technology or a related field
Publication record in SCI- or EI-indexed academic journals in the field
Good spoken and written English
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ongoing interest in and curiosity about research in this field, and passion to communicate that research to other people
Ability to work independently, solve problems and think creatively
Willingness to travel within China and internationally
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other standard office software Desirable
Experience in postdoctoral research and/or academic publishing
Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop or similar image editing software
Chinese language skills
This is a full-time, permanent position, to start as soon as possible. As well as salary and benefits, the successful candidate may be eligible for additional grants. The Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, will assist with applying for a Chinese work visa and residence permit.
