Job Purpose

• To carry out all the expected professional duties of a Mandarin Teacher.
• To be responsible for delivery of the Mandarin Curriculum to a range of classes throughout the school and to be responsible for the management of the class and safety and welfare of the students.
• Promote the aims and objectives of the school and maintain its philosophy of education.
• To work under the direction of the Mandarin Coordinator and Senior Leadership Team.

• Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge students.
• Demonstrate an ability to develop creative learning opportunities within the classroom and beyond.
• Have good curriculum knowledge, a passion for education and life-long learning.
• Be experienced in teaching and learning through diverse educational practices, including inquiry-based learning.
• Understand the importance of a balance between a child's wellbeing and academic achievement.
• Make accurate and productive use of assessment to further develop students learning.
• Believe in Positive Behaviour strategies and use them successfully.
• Fulfil wider school professional responsibilities.

Requirements

• Native Mandarin speaker.
• Registered Teacher with Hong Kong Education Bureau.
• Good team player with strong interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to the pastoral care and wellbeing of children.
• Ideally experienced in working in international school settings.
