Job Description
Eaton’s VGNA division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Design Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Aguascalientes facility. The Manufacturing Design Engineer is responsible for maintain, improve, integrate, and support the system infrastructure throughout the plant to improve performance and provide real time information to management to support business decision. Liaison between supplier and user to maximize system performance including system accuracy, performance and uptime. Evaluate upgrades of technology to ensure that the benefits are consistent with the costs. Some activities related with the position will be: Develops, designs and controls the tools for the forging, machining and grinding areas. Is self-directed and works based on a plan of priorities and responsibilities Propose improvements in the design of tools and equipment to facilitate installation, improve durability or maintenance. Recommends improvements to existing production equipment to improve quality, reliability and productivity, process optimization. Supports manufacturing to optimize processes according to Eaton regulations and requirements of the client in accordance with IATF 16949. Update tooling Blue Prints. Participate in improvement projects with multidisciplinary teams. Time management Process optimization #LI-VIT1 Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanics, Mechatronics, Robotics or Industrial.) Mechanical Design, Calculation, Parametric Modeling, and Functional Dimensioning Knowledge in detail drawing, GD&T, ASME Y14.5 2009 Knowledge of Materials and Heat Treatments. Skills for monitoring and problem solving. CAD and CAE knowledge (Solid Works, Creo (ProE), Autocad) Preferred Qualifications: Creativity in creating unique solutions Basic Manufacturing Process Knowledge of: Forging, Machining, Grinding, Heat Treat Plating, Assembly, Welding, Inspection equipment Position Success Criteria: Promote a CI culture, thru teamwork, standardization and behavioral coaching, ensuring a constant safety focus Interpersonal communication skills and leadership development ability Functional Competencies: Foundation Manufacturing information and instruction management Process improvement and problem solving Knowledge and use of shop floor systems used throughout the manufacturing facility Industrialization of new products by process design and implementation We make what matters work.
