JOB SUMMARY

Facilitate development and commercialization of frames and components manufactured in China, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Service CSG Design and Product Management teams by traveling and working directly with key factories and suppliers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaboration with Design Engineer / Industrial Design teams globally to develop industry leading designs within CSG’s manufacturing supply chain in Asia.
• Work with Design Engineer and suppliers to get final/approved specifications, drawings, and renderings.
• Review and give feedback on design for manufacturing and assembly.
• Facilitate design package hand-off meeting with supplier.
• PFMEA creation and action plan ownership.
• Lead First Article Inspection, fit-and-function, testing non-conformance root cause and corrective/preventative actions.
• Communicate tooling, sample making, and testing status to project team.
• Support vendor process development regarding manufacturing methods needed to make product to specifications.
• Assist Design Engineering to achieve price targets with manufacturing method research and recommendations.
• Work with suppliers on paint mask design and paint process improvements.
• Manage and conduct process improvement initiatives with suppliers.
• Recognize incorrect operations and manage the action plan with the vendor to correct them.
• Conduct meetings and answer for production variances.
• Analyse tooling and fixturing requirements.
• Support CSG Quality Management System, including First Article Inspection, process flow charts, and control plans.
• Review process documentation against actual build methods.
• Understand and analyse tolerance requirements.
• Act as the liaison between Design Engineering and the vendor.
• Qualify new suppliers and new processes.
• Assist Design Engineers with prototype development.
• Assist scouring teams with manufacturing / engineering-based recommendations.
• Assist Engineering team members from USA and Germany during supplier visits.

JOB REQUIEMENTS

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• University / College graduate, degree in engineering related field or equivalent.
• Proven success in bicycle frame, component, and/or bike accessories manufacturing
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in alloy manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of aluminum tube forming, forging, welding, painting, and paint mask design.
• Alloy failure analysis.

SKILLS

• Fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) and English, both in speaking and writing is essential.
• Excellent leadership with good team work spirit.
• Ability to give design for manufacturing feedback to Design Engineers.
• Lead supplier meetings for corrective actions and process improvements.
• Critical thinking and proactive mindset.
• Good commercial sense, communication, and negotiation skill.
• Expert in manufacturing process fundamentals with the ability to understand and fix process variation and non-conformance.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Thorough understanding of quality procedures such as FAI, RCCA, and PFMEA.
• Ability to support multiple projects at the same time.
• Computer skill for MS office, CAD (CREO) is a plus.
• Must be able to read, understand, and create 2D drawings.
