Job Description
Job Summary Responsible to design, validate and implement manufacturing systems, including process, documentation, control and optimization through the life of the product. An Engineer seeks and promotes the continuous improvement of the manufacturing processes on current and transfers businesses. Job Responsibilities Supports Production Area, contribute to achieve the High Five metrics of the focus factory. Participate in Tier meetings related to the focus factory, participates in safety assessments and generate JSA and MOC (Job safety analysis and Management of changes). Create, design, validate and implement manufacturing systems (assembly lines) including documentation (PFMEA, WIs, flow chart, procedures) and establishes and implement process controls. Participate on quality system improvements and implement changes accordingly through the APQP methodology. Develop and implement tools as per new or revised requirements (standard tooling) and new design fixtures for assembly (fixtures, stencils, wave pallets). Provides planning and direction for all technical activities while achieving optimum productivity of equipment, materials, facilities and appropriate operating systems. Establishes preventive maintenance program for new assembly systems or stations. Actively promotes and executes plant level kaizen events to drive continuously improvement and drive short term and long term organization performance improvement. Lead Capital Investment projects to improve productivity, cost savings, replace obsolete equipment and others by following the financial guidelines, working on a project timeline and coordinating all activities for the complete succesful implementation of the project. Develop and implement product/process changes such as MCO’s, deviations and validations according to internal procedures. Seeks and promotes the continuous improvement (Lean manufacturing system) and Industry 4.0 development with automotive mindset. Uses daily production data (yields/thru-put/etc.) to develop and execute corrective actions plans to drive continuous improvement. Routing management in the ERP system (SAP), lead and participate in VSM and Kaizen events, implement standard work to improve line efficiency, seeks and promotes Cost Out Projects. EHS Responsibilities: Separate hazardous waste from the common waste. Place hazardous waste (gloves, rags, etc.) in assigned containers. Keep clean the work área contaminant free. Do not waste water. Report any activity that may jeopardize my safety and the environment. Identify and properly dispose all the chemicals that may contaminate the environment. Ensure the correct container for the disposal of hazardous waste (identified containers and containers to prevent spills). Report the entry of new Chemicals required for Maintenance purposes due to maintain a record updated and assure the compliance of the correct handling of them. Contain oil spills and repair as necessary. #LI-MM3 Qualifications Qualifications Education level required: Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Electronics, Electric, Mechatronic or Mechanics (or similar). Years and area of experience required: 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing and equipment areas and/or similar position. 3-5 years of experience (preferred) on building electronic products. Experience/knowledge with process and equipment validation, PFEMA, process flow, APQP, etc. Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge in IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/21 and basic knowledge of IATF-16949. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish, leadership skills, proactive, strong organization and analytical thinker. Soft skills: Experience in SMT Process Knowledge in ANSI 20.20.
