Eaton’s B-Line Division is currently seeking a Tool Room Manufacturing Engineering Technician to join our 1st Shift team. This position is based at our Reno, NV facility. Pay Rate: $29.44/hour Shift Hours: 6:00am - 2:30pm Monday through Friday Position Overview: Eaton is looking for a Tool Room Manufacturing Engineering Technician to supporting plant operations and leading continuous improvement / cost out initiatives across the organization. In this function you will: Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and production teams to define tooling requirements and goals Design and tool parts and components according to blueprints and requirements Provide technical support and instructions to team leaders and operators on proper tooling use in product fabrication and assembly. Assist with the improvement and refinement of tooled pieces and tooling processes Assist in the investigation of root cause for non-conformities and implementation of corrective action Implements methods and practices to reduce variation. Demonstrates ability to understand source(s) of variation Hand on experience on tool room with experience running EDM machines etc. Review of tool/fixture preventive maintenance plan Planning of in-house New Tool & Fixture Development Work When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Associate degree and/ or 2-year technical certification in a manufacturing operations/skilled trades from accredited institution or equivalent experience. Minimum of 6 months of prior experience designing and tooling parts in a manufacturing environment Minimum 6 months of prior experience reading and utilizing blueprints and schematics Minimum 6 months of prior experience utilizing computers and standard drafting software (i.e AutoCAD, SolidWorks) Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Reno, NV will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Preferred qualifications: Higher education degree in a manufacturing operations, skilled trades, or engineering from accredited institution. Three (3) years or more experience in a manufacturing/operations or military environment. 12 months of prior experience designing and tooling parts in a manufacturing environment 12 months of prior experience reading and utilizing blueprints and schematics 12 months of prior experience utilizing computers and standard drafting software 18 months of prior experience utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel Position Criteria: Ability to utilize Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format in English. Strong math and problem-solving skills Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift. Able to regularly lift 35 pounds without assistance. Occasionally lift more than 35 lbs. with assistance. Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment as required by company policy and procedure. Demonstrated experience and competency with Microsoft Office. Demonstrated experience with interpreting & applying blueprints/schematics. Why work at Eaton?
