Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provide assistance to line and staff personnel in order to develop solutions for product and manufacturing problems for a complete line of apparatus. Assist in training and development of personnel. Assemble, verify, and analyze the results of others, prepare reports and present findings. Initiate and prepare specifications for products, equipment, tooling, processes, and systems to obtain optimum cost and quality manufacturability. Implement and utilize strategies to ensure concurrent engineering and design for manufacturing concepts with the design engineering team. Investigate and develop understanding of new technologies and processes and be able to assess these from a broad perspective in terms of the impact of the total business. Design, develop, justify, and guide the installation of new engineering concepts, equipment, tooling, processes, and systems through appropriate procedures so that optimum manufacturing cost can be achieved and maintained. Maintain an understanding of JIT, Lean & Agile Manufacturing, Kaizen, TQM, Poka-Yoke and cPQI. Other duties, projects as assigned Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering. Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above (Please do not round). Candidate must reside within 50 miles of Arden, NC location. No relocation is being offered. Candidate must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications: Prior internship experience within a manufacturing environment. Candidate with Yellow Belt certification. Understanding of Lean Six Sigma concepts preferred.
