Position Overview: As a Manufacturing Engineering Manager will support and be primary technical resource for all new process development projects and extension of existing products which includes process design, machine/automation design, make/buy analysis, and follow up on project status. You will also provide direct leadership, mentoring & coaching to all site manufacturing engineers on technical standards and process ownership. Design, implement, and monitor progress through onboarding and training programs for new hire Manufacturing Engineers. Meeting complex program goals for product performance, quality goals, regulatory compliance requirements, cost, schedule, and development budget. Responsible for working with Product Management, Program Management, and Innovation Engineers to define the product, solidify the manufacturing strategy, and author the PFMEA. *This position will be working out of our Carol Stream, IL manufacturing site* In this function you will: Support and be primary technical resource for all new process development projects and extension of existing products which includes process design, machine/automation design, make/buy analysis, and follow up on project status. Provide direct leadership, mentoring & coaching to all site manufacturing engineers on Site technical standards and process ownership. Design, implement, and monitor progress through onboarding and training programs for new hire Manufacturing Engineers. Define standards and document manufacturing processes/practices, check lists, lessons learned and experience data across all product lines. Drive cost-out and continuous improvement through Manufacturing Engineering organization. Support other manufacturing engineering projects as required by Site leadership: Perform process design/analysis for flow and efficiency, overall ownership of manufacturing APQP process Ownership of site technical roadmap and strategic planning for Manufacturing Engineering. Champion efforts to engage Site Manufacturing team in cutting edge technology, manufacturing system improvements, and engagement in manufacturing forums. Maintain and promote a constructive and favorable relationship with current and prospective customers, vendors, peers, and other team members. Team leadership for cross-functional innovation teams. Contribute to and promote the development of skillsets and capabilities within PROLaunch. Drive execution of solutions inclusive of concept definition, requirements validation, and engineering specification Leads planning for demonstrations, proof of concepts and pilots manufacturing systems development. Strengthen skillsets in cross-functional and operational knowledge areas outside of previous domain expertise (i.e., Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance). Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution required Minimum of eight (8) years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer/Industrial Engineer/Process Engineer/Mechanical Engineer Minimum two (2) years previous experience as a supervisor/manager is required Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. Preferred Qualifications: Understanding of manufacturing processes including (but not limited to) turning, milling, grinding, stamping, hand and robotic assemblies Must possess effective presentation skills (verbal and written) and be able to work effectively with other team members Prior working experience with automotive connectors Experience working with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 requirements Ability to troubleshoot technical problems related to engineered processes and part performance, problems relating to process capability and efficiency Eaton considers qualified applicants regardless of criminal histories, consistent with local laws.
