Eaton’s Aerospace sector, Fluid and Electrical Distribution division, is currently seeking an Manufacturing Engineering Technician to join our team on 1st Shift. This position is based at our Glenolden, PA facility. Position Overview: This position is responsible for supporting plant leadership in achieving business and financial goals by developing and maintaining robust manufacturing processes and participating and/or leading continuous improvement / cost out initiatives across the organization. In this function you will: Responsible for assisting the manufacturing engineers in all areas of responsibility with primary focus on process checking assembly and machining conformance to standards and the maintenance and documentation of work instruction. Provide technical support and instruction for group leaders and operators on proper assembly techniques Maintain routers and visual work instructions Assist in the investigation of root cause for non-conformities and implementation of corrective action Assists in developing and maintaining robust, cost efficient manufacturing processes and product structures consistent with lean manufacturing practices. Implements methods and practices to reduce variation. Demonstrates ability to understand source(s) of variation Promotes culture of continuous improvement and understands lean manufacturing techniques as they apply to eliminate waste and deliver products to customer’s expectations. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Minimum of High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing/operations environment and/or military environment. Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Glenolden, PA will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Preferred Qualifications: Associate degree or 2-year technical certification in a manufacturing operations/skilled trades from accredited institution Minimum of 1 year experience in working with lean tools in a manufacturing environment.
