Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to join our 1st Shift team. This position is based at our Fayetteville, NC facility. 1st Shift Hours: 7am – 3:30pm Monday - Friday Position Overview: The Manufacturing Engineering LEAN Technician will be part of a high-performance work team that supports the goals of OPEX and Operations by executing on projects and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing and office zones. Responsibilities will be to serve as team expert to meet CI deliverables and assist in the sustainment of area actions/improvements. Participate and lead rapid improvement events, kaizens, problem solving events, etc. Drive CIF implementation to achieve High Five goals and use as a competitive advantage. Day to day support of the manufacturing team as well as support the longer-term strategic planning activities under the supervision of manufacturing engineers and management. Why work at Eaton? Lead or facilitate projects or events such as Shop Floor and Rapid Improvement Events, Standardization 5S+, Error Proofing, Eliminating Waste, etc. Drive employee engagement through the CI program Report out improvements, lessons learned etc. to the CI Steering Committee Drive best practice knowledge sharing across the Continuous Improvement Team Complete area assessments on CIF maturity, assist with 5S+ assessments (if needed). Identify and prioritize tier level VSM projects/improvements, standard work updates, workstation risk assessment improvements, etc. Calculate cost out metrics from events, continuous improvement submissions, etc. Develop and maintain robust, cost-efficient manufacturing processes consistent with Eaton Lean Manufacturing practices. Qualifications Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required Experience in a manufacturing environment Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Candidates must reside within a 50 mile radius of Fayetteville, NC will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Preferred Qualifications: Associate degree from an accredited institution in an Engineering field Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or Continuous Improvement events or projects Position Criteria: Assist Manufacturing Engineers in the development of prototype equipment, manufacturing process, and equipment relocation/installation through the use of LEAN concepts. This may include physically preparing the facility for these activities. Work with very little supervision to improve the workflow for the department(s) that you have been assigned to in such a manner that minimizes machine down time.
