How will you make an impact?
The Master Scheduler/Planner plans and facilitates the review of the manufacturing schedule and material options within Production, Quality Assurance (QA), Supply Chain, and Process Engineering. Additionally, is responsible of preparing and lead production escalation resolutions with cross functional teams and senior management.
What will you do?
- Participates in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process representing manufacturing department and participates in meetings with key customer planning organizations.
- Monitors the performance of key performance indicators (KPI) and targets as input to the S&OP meeting and as input for continuous improvement projects (e.g. capacity utilization, OTD, schedule adherence).
- Sets, maintains and manages master production schedule, including material requirements planning (MRP). Reports important deviations between the Master Production Scheduling (MPS) and the S&OP to the Sr.Manager. Evaluates the load of critical resources (raw materials, work centers or specific equipment) as a result of the existing S&OP.
- Ensures master data is updated and material availability to support S&OP plan.
- Monitors detailed manufacturing and packaging (MFG / PKG) planning compared to the Master Production Schedule. Makes daily adjustments to the Master Production Schedule and shipment plan and communicate to all involved in executing the plans.
- Sets and maintains the shipment plan based on supply agreed. Monitors batch release process and progress against the Operations delivery plan.
- Communicates with the site Master Production Scheduler to spread customer demand in line with available capacity. Seeks resolution for capacity conflicts in consultation with Senior Manager.
- Attends weekly on-time delivery meetings. Oversee risks to MPS and detailed schedule and ensure actions and owners of risk mitigations are in place. Works with the team to develop corrective and preventative actions to special cause deviations.
- Communicates and aligns with Manufacturing and provides input for QC Lab, QA, EM and other support functions.
- Determines the inventory plan based on agreed stock targets. Monitors inventory levels versus planning. Minimizes inventory while ensuring material availability. Reports details on blocked and rejected inventory. Identifies capacity constraints or low utilization at least 6 months ahead.
How will you get here?
Education
Bachelor degree is required, with a major in Business Administration, Finance, Industrial Management, Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering degree or related field is preferable.
Experience
- Five (5) or more years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing operations including roles that involved materials planning and production scheduling in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in Supply Chain or Planning within in Pharma/Biological industries, preferable.
- Two (2) or more years in a direct or indirect leadership role, overseeing production timelines that impact upstream and downstream teams and other key stakeholders.
- Understanding and experience working with SAP and ERP systems (particularly Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, Demand Planning, and Inventory Management and Production Scheduling modules)

- Understanding of customer needs in relation to process capabilities (production, material and system lead times).
- Ability to work across all levels of the organization including shop floor, senior management, and cross functional teams.
