Eaton’s Electrical Sector - Canada is currently seeking 1 Production assistant position in Delta, BC to join our team. This position is based at our Delta,BC location. Please note that this a UNIONIZED position. As such you will be required to join the IBEW. Position Overview: Reporting to the Satellite Plant Manager, this position interprets the Manufacturing Information documents in order to mechanically assemble, fit and install prefabricated parts or modify basic components, sub-assemblies and structures using hand and power tools for the site product lines. In this function you will: Works in all departments assisting in any capacity with supervision. Expected to produce basic panelboards, switchboards, and control assemblies as required. Expected to understand the order, drawing, material and inventory processes. Able to complete the assembly, label, basic testing and quality checks and prepare for shipping. Work from written or verbal instructions from site leadership, system generated picking documents and established work routines. Provide input and recommendations to improve effectiveness of work area. Provide assistance and guidance to co-workers as required. Effectively dispose of scrap material. Maintain Daily 5S responsibilities. Flexible to work overtime. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: High School Diploma. Completed six (6) months’ probation or equivalent experience. Preferred qualifications: Basic to Intermediate computer skills including MS Office and database management. 2 years’ experience in a fabrication/assembly environment. 1 years’ experience in Lean Manufacturing implementation and continuous improvement techniques. Position Criteria: Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Good leadership skills and able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision. Good problem-solving abilities. Intermediate computer skills including familiarity with databases.
