Siemens is creating its first UK based Rail Industry Hub on the outskirts of Goole in the East Riding of Yorkshire. With an initial contract to assemble nearly 50 trains to service the Piccadilly line on the London Underground we are starting to recruit up to 300 skilled technical and support colleagues at in our Manufacturing Facility. In the near future follow-on work is expected to bring this number of trains into the hundreds, along with an expansion on the site into maintenance and overhaul activities displaying a long-term commitment to the area and growth in employment and career opportunities. We are now recruiting for a Manufacturing Support Engineer to join our Rolling Stock Manufacturing Engineer Team. You will be an experienced Engineer who has recent exposure to industrial manufacturing or assembly activity within a matrix organisation. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe manufacturing and assembly of our Piccadilly Deep Tube Train Sets, acting as a specialist you be the local authority on our manufacturing processes to enable us to achieve our high product safety standards. You will interact daily with our Goole site assembly, quality and logistics teams as well as your engineering colleagues at our twin site in Vienna, some travel will be required. To be successful in this role you should be able to demonstrate: Engineering Degree in a suitable subject Established practitioner of Manufacturing Support or similar activities within an industrial manufacturing environment Experience of leading engineering change, deviation management and design authority interaction. It would also be helpful to have experience of the following: Rail industry experience or awareness Working within a start-up or major change environment Recent employment within a globally matrixed manufacturing or engineering environment.
