More about us https://www.eaton.com Test Development Leader-Manufacturing Location: Cwmbran The Cwmbran facility is the centre of excellence for the Fire product line, a leading manufacturer and a global supplier of high-quality fire systems and devices. With our ability to provide complete systems, not just components, our customers can be confident in the knowledge that all of our products have been specifically designed and tested to ensure that they are all fully compatible to form a reliable, compliant fire detection and alarm system. The role will be responsible for leading the test department, responsible for writing the specifications and for the execution of complex electronic assembly test and diagnostic activities in the plant. The role will be also be responsible for coordinating all the test equipment related maintenance activities and supporting the commissioning of custom, purpose-built test equipment solutions to meet the overall business objectives. The ideal candidate will have experience of National Instruments hardware and software including C/C++, TestStand and LabView development, as well as a sound knowledge of PCBA and Final Product testing. Your main responsibilities: Work with engineering department to define and develop cost effective testing strategies and techniques to be performed with respect to hardware and software modules within the system and to be the owner of the sustaining activities throughout the lifecycle of the product. Design, implementation and maintenance of test rigs suitable for the production test PCBA's Deploy procured test equipment effectively and efficiently into the manufacturing environment. Support capital investment plans to ensure all test solutions meet the ongoing Business needs. Creation of requirements specifications and robust statements of work against which suppliers can quote for the procurement of test equipment and software. Responsible for the regular review of all the test equipment hardware and software during every phase of manufacturing, ensuring effective operation and maintaining production test procedures. Write clear and unambiguous process and product documentation whenever it is necessary, and provide training to relevant production personals on all newly introduced test equipment. Ensuring all test equipment is compliant with relevant safety requirements. Develop and modify software solutions using NI TestStand, LabView, Ansi C, LabWindows CVI languages. Support of diagnosis and remedial actions to facilitate product rework. Actively participate in a culture of continuous improvement, refining and defining procedures and processes to ensure good quality product meeting cost and time-to-market objectives. Promote the adoption of best practices. Qualifications Your essential skills we are looking for: Education level required: Electronical qualification required (Bachelor’s Degree or similar) Years and area of experience required Previous experience as a Test Engineer is would be beneficial Technical knowledge Certified LabVIEW Architect/Developer Experience with NI LabView and TestStand development Experience in the creation of test documentation, i.e., test specifications and test plans Ability to interpret electronic schematic diagrams Experience of diagnostic tools for electronic repair of printed circuit boards Design experience of functional test equipment Knowledge and experience of aftersales processes and systems including warranty and repair operations Experienced with SAP Soft skills Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines Excellent coordinating skills / ability to multi-task Project Management Resilient to changing situations and priorities and be able to enact prompt action Experience of seeing a process through from initiation to closure Strong teamwork skills We would like to hear about you!
