The Nordic Marketing Company (Nordic) employs around 400 people across 5 countries and has offices located in Helsinki, Södertälje, Copenhagen and Oslo. The predecessor of the role is progressing her career with AstraZeneca reflecting of how we work to grow and develop talent within our organization. Due to the change, we are now recruiting an experienced professional to take on market access, governmental affairs and communication accountabilities in Finland.

The position is part of the Finland Leadership team and you will collaborate on a daily basis with business units, medical as well as cross Nordic and global teams.

Key Accountabilities

You will lead the Market Access and Governmental Affairs team in Finland and work closely with Nordic and global teams to understand and contribute to strategies for key brands. You will be responsible for gathering insights to optimize access strategies and for driving reimbursement/funding preparations in Finland. Since treatment regimens in specialty care as well as payer landscapes are under constant change, you need to have an exploratory and innovative mind with great understanding of customers and interest in innovating our business. The ambition is to contribute to shaping a healthcare landscape where we secure access to new medicine for the right patients. You must therefore have an interest in evidence generation and value of treatment and be ready to find new solutions together with various stakeholders.

AstraZeneca has a strong culture of good payer and stakeholder relations. To further strengthen the collaboration, communication is playing an important role. The overall ambition is to contribute shaping healthcare systems and policies to improve patient outcomes in support of new innovations.   

In order to succeed in this role you have:

• A relevant academic degree e.g in economics, business, public health, medicine, or pharmaceutical science

• Significant experience in Market Access gained within the pharmaceutical industry

• Pricing & reimbursement experience preferably in oncology or other specialty care area

• Strong understanding of interest in science, including real world data, and the value of pharmaceuticals

• Strong negotiation and influencing skills, proven ability interacting with regional and global internal stakeholders

• Proactive and persistent in achieving results, can resolve and overcome challenges

• Good understanding of the ethical code and compliance requirements of the pharmaceutical industry

You must have strong leadership and people management skills, fluent in both written and spoken English as well as local language. Your understanding of health economics, and analytical skills will be assets for the role as will your insights into digital transformation.

You have a proven track record of market access and governmental affairs experience for launch product including insight and payer work from idea to success. Your experience from the market in Finland together with a strong documented network is essential for the role.
