How will you make an impact?
The Global Market Development Specialist will assist in developing and executing marketing campaigns for the GSD, CSD Licensing and Commercial Supply team, using a customer-centric go-to-market approach. Our strategic intent is to develop OEM partnerships with commercial customers developing an in-direct sales channel for the businesses we serve. This position will be a key contributor accelerate growth in the Genetic Sciences, Genetic Testing Solutions and Clinical Next Generation Sequencing businesses. The role has global impact and is working with all major and emerging markets; from start-ups to the largest multi-national IVD companies. The simple objective is to find new customer and drive more value from existing ones.

What will you do?
Assist in the development and execution of strategic marketing plans to support new product commercialization, audience segmentation/messaging, portfolio positioning, competitive analysis, and market development opportunities.

  • Support the development and execution of engaging, bold marketing tactics to help drive awareness, demand, and conversion for the LCS business.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of clear, compelling marketing content to support multiple channels, including digital, web, email, social media, video, etc.
  • Maintain digital footprint of supported product portfolios through continuous optimization of SEM, SEO, and web content
  • Support regional market development managers to build and execute marketing programs within their geographic regions
  • Collaborate with product management and commercial teams to develop sales force training and customer education material on new product features or applications
  • Support robust global event schedule for varying types of events, ranging from small to large proprietary or industry conferences
  • Act as a brand ambassador, understanding, upholding, and communicating our brand strategy and unique value proposition in all aspects of our marketing programs
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc oral and written communication of metrics, successes, failures, best practices, etc. to improve the overall operating efficiency of the team
  • Track and manage marketing budget at a tactic, project, and program level to ensure alignment with annual operating plan

How will you get here?
Education:

  • BS degree in Life Science, Business, or related field. MBA and/or PhD highly preferred

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in product marketing, marketing communications, product management, life science sales, marketing communications, or other closely related position
  • Marketing acumen in developing marketing strategy, value proposition development, and content across multiple channels
  • Development and management of metrics dashboards and reports, with a strong bias for data-driven decision-making
  • Ability to create compelling sales collateral and marketing materials
  • Strong communication skills - comfortable interacting with varying levels of internal and external audiences including direct customer communication, “C” level executive engagement, and vendors/suppliers
  • Analytics, project management and planning skills necessary, with strong attention to detail. Ability to partner with data analytics to uncover new opportunities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the following key competencies: 4Ps and marketing mix, marketing communication, communication channels, channels-to-market, segmentation, value proposition and marketing program development and execution.
  • Experience developing marketing strategy and content
  • Understanding of digital marketing in various channels, including marketing automation, SEO/SEM, display and social advertising as well as digital performance metrics. Experience developing and executing digital marketing initiatives preferred.
  • Strong business acumen and clear customer focus
  • Analytical thinking abilities shown to drive metrics and benchmarks to ensure continuous improvement in process and results; capable of turning data into reports/presentations
  • Desire to learn and work across multiple teams
  • Entrepreneurial spirit/ ability and desire to try new things
