DSM Dyneema is the inventor, manufacturer and marketer of UHMWPE fiber, branded as Dyneema®, the world’s strongest fiber®. This ultra-strong polyethylene material is produced by means of DSM’s proprietary processes.
Business headquarters are located in Urmond (The Netherlands). Two regional business representative offices have been established in Stanley, North Carolina (USA) and Singapore, with sales offices also in Mumbai and Shanghai (China).

  • Implementation of new digital platforms and communication trends
  • Complex value chains, including some government and institutional decisionmakers resulting in tender-type contracts.

The Marketing Communications Manager is an integral member of the global M&S organization and works closely with the Business Management Team, Global Marketing Managers and regional sales teams. The global position for a certain segment requires the Marcom Manager to take the lead in defining global communications strategy, as well as be the regional key contact for all other segments in the APAC region. This would involve creating communications approaches and tools to realize global business goals and translate into global & regional implementation for the segments. The job holder also steers and co-operates with external agency partners and consultants.
The Challenge:
  • Operating in a fast changing and growing, global multi-cultural environment which requires diplomacy, commitment, endurance and mutual consent.
  • Value selling and further building and leveraging the Dyneema® brand is essential in the DSM Dyneema strategy.
  • Balance global responsibility as Marcom Manager and regional manager for selected segments with deployment of all related activities in the APAC region
  • Branding and Communications is regarded as subjective and therefore hard to manage, but job-holder is working in close cooperation with the full Marcom Team and M&S Director to change this perception
The Position:
  • Responsible for the building of the brand perception, visibility and promotion within the APAC region. (Accountability for the brand is with the Global Manager of Marketing Communications DSM Dyneema®)
  • Advise and support the business & marketing teams on transforming the business model to be based on brand recognition and engagement.
  • Develop measurements and metrics to track and develop key communications drivers internally and externally.
  • Implement corporate DSM guidelines as described in the DSM brand book.
  • Create, propose and implement Global marketing communications plans for selected business segments, and branding program as part of the overall Strategic Marketing Plan(s)
  • Co-create, implement & monitor the MarCom plans for all DSM Dyneema segments in APAC region
  • Plan & support the enhancement of employee engagement by sustaining a continuous and timely communication and information flow (e.g. Inside Dyneema®) all on the basis of the one DSM Culture agenda
  • Propose DSM Dyneema MarCom communication budget for the Segment, manage activities within budget: Co-promotion with licensees; Localization of global content and activation; Vendor billing and budget tracking
  • Project manage major events related to communications i.e. trade shows, PR programs, press events, media relations in line with budget
  • Advise line management. on internal communication policy, and execution (tactics, process and tools)
  • Act as process manager for DSM Dyneema communication processes and guard compliance with the Corporate Requirements
  • Drive cross regional team work and stay in close connection to the Global Marketing Communications team
  • Take the lead in identifying, proposing and managing key external agency resources in the delivery of communications, PR, online/interactive & branding strategy and plans in close cooperation with Marcom Managers in EMEA and Americas.
The Ideal:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or above in communications, marketing and/or related field
  • At least 8 years working experience in a B2B marketing/branding role
  • Experience in writing and implementing an overall (marketing) communication plan (internal/external) in order to realize the business strategy and objectives and grow the brand
  • Communication related skills, knowledge, and experience
  • Proven success in Project management
  • Demonstrated experience in communication tactics, process (on- and offline) and tools (including new business/product launches)
  • Self-propelling attitude and self-motivated and proactive work style
  • Analytical thinker with strategic background
  • Very good communication skills in English
  • Good understanding of communication processes
  • Strong networking and oral and written communications skills
  • Knowledge of media management principles and ability to apply them in a complex value chain environment
  • Strong understanding of digital landscape and tooling
  • Experience with Google Analytics and Adobe stack preferred but not mandatory
