In this vital role the Director, HCP Marketing for Cardiovascular (Repatha) will not only have an impact on the continued, and future success of our US Cardiovascular business at Amgen, but also the lives the CV patients that can benefit from Repatha treatment.

The role of Director HCP Marketing Cardiovascular (Repatha) reports to Executive Director of HCP Marketing CV and is responsible for setting and implementing strategies to maximize brand growth with prioritized HCP customer segments. Key aspects of the role will involve carrying out a targeted branded promotional communications plan, overseeing the development of promotional tactics across marketing channels, partnering closely with the sales team to ensure strong execution of sales tactics and messaging, and shaping the future strategies for the brand.

This critical role requires tight collaboration with a wide range of internal and external partners and ability execute with agility. Therefore, the ideal candidate will have a track record of outstanding leadership, a strategic approach, proven capability to build brands with a highly collaborative approach, and a passion for serving patients.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drive in-line performance of Repatha with specific HCP segments

  • Collaborate closely with multiple business partners, just to name a few most critical ones: Sales Team, Omni-channel Marketing, Value and Access, Global Marketing, and the full Repatha x-functional brand team

  • Create a winning culture and coach staff on the team

  • Create a highly collaborative and effective cross-functional marketing team that strives for flawless execution that results in an optimal customer experience

  • Develop marketing strategy, leading market research plans, creating compelling creative campaigns, building and implementing segmentation, helping to evolve brand positioning, and overseeing tactical plan development and execution.

  • Develop, pilot, and deploy insights-driven future strategies and innovations that will put Amgen in a leadership position and drive behavior change among target HCPs

  • Partner with sales lead to ensure strategic and execution connectivity with the sales force. Regularly interface with the sales team to optimize performance, as well as troubleshoot and resolve execution barriers. Help train sales teams on marketing resources and strategy.

  • Develop and deliver on revenue and expense forecast expectations by managing budgets and closely monitor performance to meet brand goals and objectives, ensuring cost-effective delivery of all programs.

  • Manage advertising agencies to develop and produce engaging creative and tactics via traditional and innovative channels.

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree & 4 years of Marketing experience

Or

Master’s degree & 6 years of Marketing experience

Or

Bachelor’s degree & 8 years of Marketing experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

  • 5+ years of experience in a series of commercial roles of increasing scope, scale and complexity, with leading companies in the bio-pharmaceutical or health and wellness industry

  • Experience developing and implementing innovative commercial strategies, within highly competitive markets where innovation and marketing prowess are a key factor of success

  • Healthcare Provider marketing, strategic and tactical implementation roles, with an emphasis on uncovering novel and motivating customer insights and executing integrated multi-touch point initiatives to move an apathetic market

  • Strong track record in leading cross-functional teams in a matrix environment; managing projects involving multiple functions and shared accountabilities
