Job Purpose/Overview
Supports end-to-end financial P&L strategy, models, metrics and post-launch review for enterprise Innovation pipeline focused on Breakthrough, Incremental, Continuous and Renovation. Supports the Sr. Finance Manager on all BMT activities and serves as the Canadian Innovation Finance lead.
Key Responsibilities
• Co-pilot, influence and align cross-functional stakeholders on key financial metrics, measures, hurdles and thresholds intended to deliver optimized innovation performance for the enterprise.
• Partner with Sr. Finance Innovation Manager to drive efficiency and effectiveness within the Innovation space via rollout and adoption of Innovation management digital tools and platform.
• Align, implement and embed identified Innovation transformation and acceleration principles, metrics, measures, hurdles and performance thresholds designed to optimize resources and investments while minimizing complexity.
• Support and drive full end-to-end financial management of Innovation projects including P&L creation, financial metric measurements and optimization, scenario planning, post launch analysis, portfolio strategy analysis and sku optimization. Support and standardization alignment with Sr. Finance Innovation Manager.
• Support the Canadian Finance Lead through leadership of Canadian Innovation project P&Ls and finance business partnering.
• Drive acclimation and adaptation of step-changed ways of working through influence, education and training of Marketing/Cross-Functional/One Demand Finance associates in new processes, tools and defined best practices respective to Innovation arena.
Context and Scope
• Partnership, collaboration and co-piloting responsibilities with Brand Managers, Associate Brand Managers, Project Managers and Cross-Functional Activity team on end-to-end Innovation planning process.
• Role will align cross-functional organization, leveraging finance leadership as needed, to create projects, innovation and sku optimization that meets newly designed financial matrix, models, hurdles and thresholds designed to accelerate revenue and profit return on Innovation.
• Role will work cross-functionally to deliver accurate P&L analysis and modeling, expanded financial performance projections and delivery and rigorous post launch review analysis. Strong partnership with Sr. Finance Innovation Manager to drive successful deployment and adoption of digital Innovation tools.
• Role will utilize various financial models aligning to growth archetype, project product expectations, 6 scale jobs, 4 key consumer spaces and other Marketing Insights parameters designed to analyze the projects and outputs expected within cost envelopes guidelines and ROI parameters. Provide in-depth financial analysis and recommendations related to key Innovation strategies.
• Role will proactively partner with Sr. Finance Innovation Manager to ensure standardized best practices, procedures and outputs across all BMT’s.
• Role will serve as the Canadian Innovation Finance lead, driving a unified NA innovation approach and responsibilities for the creation of financials, go and no-go decisions and influencing teams for both growth and profit enhancement.
• Role will drive acclimation and adaptation of step-changed ways of working through influence, education and training of Marketing/Cross-Functional/One Demand Finance associates in new processes, tools and defined best practices respective to Innovation arena.
Job Specifications/Qualifications
1. Education & Professional Qualification
• Bachelor’s degree required, MBA/CPA preferred.
2. Knowledge/Experience
• 2+ years of work experience, exposure to Sales & Marketing Finance a plus.
• Previous experience in accounting, budgeting, project and cost management preferred.
