Job Description
The Marketing Manager – China will be responsible for working with the Director of Marketing for Components & Devices to plan and execute marketing campaigns for the purposes of delivering pipeline for Components & Devices (C&D) research services and growing our China-based audience. The marketing manager will also be responsible for planning and executing C&D symposiums, which are an annual series of 4-5 midsize, two-day seminar events drawing 150-250 attendees.
The successful applicant should have strong skills around running marketing campaigns using email, social media, localised web pages, and PR. The marketing manager should be a self-starter capable of working independently in a matrixed global organization, and able to collaborate closely with Product Management and Sales to create, run and optimize marketing campaigns that deliver maximum impact in the region.
Main Areas of Responsibility & Accountability
- Work with sales team and related stakeholders to develop lead generation campaigns/program strategy and drive marketing qualified leads (MQLs)
- Create localized C&D marketing campaigns for the China market, including building email and landing pages, and working with the Marketing Operations Team to execute email campaigns
- Manage local social media accounts for C&D (WeChat, Xueqiu), including creating posts based on inputs from research teams, in support of C&D events, or as part of other C&D marketing/PR activities (may involve some translation of English-language source materials into Chinese)
- Own regional in-person seminar events (China Technology Conference, China Display Conference, Taiwan Display Conference, and Korea Display Conference), including marketing, online registration, logistics, vendor management, and coordination of Omdia Research and Sales colleague participation
- Coordinate local PR activities as needed and in coordination with the Omdia PR team
- Coordinate and promote participation by C&D Research colleagues in other Omdia, Informa Tech, Informa or third-party events in the region
Qualifications
- Marketing: 3-5 years of experience in B2B marketing, including setting up, delivery and optimization of automated email campaigns
- Social media: Experience managing WeChat and/or Xueqiu accounts in support of B2B marketing campaigns
- Events: Experience managing all aspects of small to midsize in-person events. Some experience with virtual (online) events a plus.
- Languages: Fluent Mandarin, ability to write and edit in Simplified and Traditional Chinese. Excellent spoken and written English. Working knowledge of Korean a plus.
- PR: Experience with PR activities such as handling media inquiries, coordinating interviews
- Knowledge of technology markets including semiconductors, display technology, and consumer electronics
- Working knowledge of Eloqua or similar marketing automation tools. Some experience using an online event registration tool such as Aventri (preferably) or Cvent a plus.
- Highly organised with proven ability to work in time pressure, tight timelines and multitasking
- Team player, highly collaborative and proactive, strong cross-language communication skills
- Self-starter, with ability to work independently to meet deadlines

- This role is based in Shanghai.
- Some travel may be required to support C&D events, including in Taiwan and Korea
