The role

Purpose

The Marketing Manager will lead the development and implementation of the strategic and tactical plan for the Oncology / Hematology product throughout its lifecycle and will oversee brand success that truly delivers for patients, healthcare providers and AZ. The Marketing Manager will be directly accountable for the success of the Oncology / Hematology brand in Romania and will deliver this by innovating and competing effectively through cohesive global and local cross-functional working.

Key responsibilities

  • Understands and articulates the patients’ perspective from the moment of diagnosis and throughout their journey. Uses this and marketplace insight to deliver effective and competitive strategic and tactical marketing plans;
  • Ensures that strong external relationships within Oncology / Hematology are built and maintained;
  • Inspires the team to develop and utilise this patient understanding to challenge and innovate thereby ensuring that AZ truly delivers for these people;
  • Works with the medical and promotional teams to help shape brand direction ensuring the critical success factors for the country are supported;
  • Leads the creation of innovative and highly effective strategic plans for the brand, including pre-launch and launch activities;
  • Ensures that, through a deep understanding of the patient journey, the brand plan delivers essential short-term growth and long term success;
  • Works with cross functional teams to develop clear ‘value’ propositions for patients and individual Healthcare systems/Healthcare professionals, aligned with the global brand team strategy;
  • Ensures engaging operational and tactical implementation of the brand plan, analysing, anticipating and, where possible, shaping marketplace changes and identifying and maximising new growth opportunities;
  • Implements a truly cross-function account planning and customer engagement strategy for the brand and regularly seeks cross-functional feedback to ensure it is functioning effectively and explore new and innovative approaches;
  • In conjunction with procurement, sources and engages external agencies and suppliers to help enhance brand performance. Leads regular performance review meetings to ensure optimal performance and value for money;
  • Oversees the budget management for the brand;
  • Agrees and delivers upon growth, sales and operational metrics, measurements and targets for the brand.

The profile

  • Minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience in bio-pharmaceutical field, with significant coverage of brand management in Oncology and/or Hematology;
  • Strong marketing expertise, with a successful track record of growing market share as well as preparing for and successfully launching new products and brands;
  • Patient centric approach with thorough knowledge of patient flow / journey;
  • Creative marketing capabilities together with rigorous commercial business sense; brand positioning, segmentation and valuation;
  • Ability to challenge, influence, contract and drive change with various internal and external stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit and orientation towards solutions; challenging the status quo in the right way;
  • Proven ability to build a common agenda to meeting a common goal;
  • Excellent communication skills, written and presentation.
