Job Description

Duties 

The appointee will be required to: 

(a) develop and execute strategic marketing campaigns that are tracked and measured on all output while optimising advertising spending;

(b) oversee all content creation, including curating and sharing information, to reach and engage global and regional audience effectively via various recruitment marketing channels such as search engines, social media, mobile apps, EDM, etc.;

(c) oversee/lead the team in developing and adopting innovative and systematic approaches to market the Laboratory’s research to academia, industries and the society;

(d) work closely with researchers, research students, administrative staff, and industry collaborators to enhance research dissemination, marketing plans for conferences, seminars and exhibitions;

(e) oversee preparation of budgets and annual reports;

(f) prepare bilingual press releases, speeches, and be responsible for copywriting; and

(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Centre Director and the Assistant Centre Director of the Laboratory and/or their delegates from time to time.

The appointee will be required to travel for business purposes, work flexible hours, and may be required to participate in outreach events, conferences, seminars and exhibitions beyond normal office hours.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a) a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Business Administration or a related discipline;

(b) at least five years’ post-qualification experience in marketing and communication, preferably with experience in design industry or tertiary education sector;

(c) a gift of storytelling;

(d) good business and marketing acumen, and an interest in technology and science;

(e) excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact and foster lasting relationships with researchers, research students, industry collaborators and senior business leaders;

(f) demonstrated good team management and organisation skills to lead and collaborate with dynamic teams;

(g) ability to work independently with minimum supervision to deliver results while being an effective contributor as part of a close-knit team environment; and

(h) an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with proficiency in Putonghua.

Remuneration
