Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
The Marketing Specialist is responsible for managing marketing and promotional campaign data, search marketing, reporting on performance metrics, and providing insights for best practices. The candidate will be responsible for content optimization including text, audio, video and image content, social media marketing, email and search marketing. The Marketing Specialist will manage the execution of strategies that support organizational goals for the marketing, sales and F&B funnels, including increasing brand and offer awareness and growing website and social media traffic.
The Marketing Specialist is responsible for coordinating internal media and influencer activations on behalf of the Director of Marketing and Social Media Manager. The candidate will create, edit and manage the production of digital and print content that is consistent with the Fairmont brand. This role will strongly support the content needs of the hotel’s food and beverage outlets. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, organization, collaboration and project management skills. This role works closely with internal teams: Marketing, in-house Graphic Designer, Dining Outlets and Operations. The position reports to the Director of Marketing.
- Analyze and report on metrics for marketing, search, social media and Google Analytics
- Draft campaign, month-end, quarterly and annual reports
- Develop customer acquisition, awareness and retention campaigns that engage customers through the use of Mass Advertising and Digital Marketing initiatives
- Monitor key social networks to identify competitor activity and consumer sentiment; develop timely promotions based on these factors
- Create an e-Commerce strategy that includes all online marketing efforts including traffic and revenue generation programs via SEO, SEM, affiliate relations and email for new and loyalty program customer acquisition
- Collaborate with Public Relations and Sales teams to deliver strategies that align with hotel-specific brand promotions and communications
- Assist in building digital loyalty strategies for consumers
- Coordinate items on behalf of the Director of Marketing, Digital Marketing Manager, and Social Media Manager
- Track hotel awards, media hotel stays and collateral
- Develop and deliver sales tools including flat sheets, InDesign creative and interactive presentation design
- Brainstorm new and creative growth ideas to support the hotel (ie. seasonal room packages, F&B offerings and promotions)
- Upload collateral to asset bank (photos, b-roll, videos) and organize digital files
- Online travel agent audits and site management (Expedia, Booking.com, Trip Advisor, etc.)
- Audit online and print Tour & Leisure brochures. Ensure photos are updated, property descriptions are accurate
- Supports company and hotel policies and procedures including the promoting and participation in CES, Fairmont Standards, LQA, Health and Safety, and JD POWER/GSE initiatives
- Strong understanding of Guest Feedback tools on different platforms including letter, telephone, JD Power, Trip Advisor, online channels and guest communications
Your experience and skills include:
- Relevant marketing experience (internal or external) is an asset
- Marketing and/or Hotel School Diploma preferred
- Google Analytics
- Excel reporting and power point presentations
- Video editing and food photography an asset
Physical Aspects of Position (included but not limited to):
- Occasional lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs
- Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
- Frequent sitting throughout shift
