Position Summary

Our Genetic Sciences Division (GSD) based in South San Francisco is at the forefront of innovation for genetic analysis research and clinical applications. The Genetic Testing Solutions Organization within GSD is a cross-platform organization designed to accelerate growth in the clinical space. The Asymptomatic Testing Solutions team within GTS is focused on developing product, technology, and service solutions that can enable the world to successfully manage pandemics, such as COVID-19, minimizing both negative health and economic outcomes. The team is dedicated to working across all Thermo Fisher Scientific genetic analysis platforms and diagnostic products, as well as identifying external partnerships (e.g., M&A, OEM, etc.), to develop products/solutions for key market verticals/ stakeholders across the globe The product portfolio and pipeline include both RUO and IVD products, and will include self-manufactured, OEM, and 3rd party products, technologies, and services. The Marketing Specialist will assist in the development and execution all marketing initiatives for ATS across all use cases/ market segments (employee, education, travel, etc., testing) globally. The successful individual must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and fast-changing environment. Strong organizational and project management skills are critical component to this role, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects and activities at once. The Marketing Specialist will be highly focused on execution of marketing tactics and activities, and the ability to perform these activities with minimal oversight is expected.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and execution of marketing program deliverables, based on defined strategic marketing plans.
  • Closely collaborate with global and regional market development managers to develop tactics for execution in the regions.
  • Work with internal creative services team and external agencies to drive the completion of marketing materials, including: flyers, product brochures, web site content, white papers, videos, webinars, promos, sales tools, social media communications, and sales & customer presentations.
  • Execution of SEO and SEM and other digital advertising for marketing programs.
  • Leverage analytics to determine the effectiveness of marketing programs based on KPI and ROI marketing metrics. Regularly track marketing program results; develop and present metrics dashboards and recommendations for plan improvements.
  • Lead the sustaining marketing activities for existing products, including updating marketing materials, web pages, emails, and other communications as necessary.
  • Create, implement, and optimize appropriate marketing content across digital channels, including web, video, social media, paid search and display advertising.
  • Assist in the development of sales tools for commercial teams, technical training and customer facing materials in collaboration with product management, R&D, and commercial teams.
  • Execute on tactical projects to achieve KPI, revenue targets and other annual operating plan objectives.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, biology, marketing, business administration, or communications.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with a proven track record of accomplishments in marketing/marketing communications.
  • Previous experience executing marketing communications is required.
  • Experience writing technical content with ability to develop messaging for sales and customer facing materials.
  • Must be detail oriented - must have the ability to identify and resolve problems and complete tasks with attention to detail.
  • Strong business acumen, marketing experience, and customer focus are essential.
  • Digital marketing understanding in various channels and digital performance metrics, SEO and Google AdWords, and ecommerce
  • Understanding of analytics metrics and how to use them to inform plan improvements.
  • Able to act in a highly autonomous manner and address complex programs with high corporate visibility.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced marketing environment with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and stay within budget
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to gain consensus and facilitate decision making processes within a matrixed environment
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
