Job Summary and Mission
This job contributes to Starbucks success by assisting with the development and implementation of marketing & category plans and initiatives. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- 4Assists with the development of marketing & category business plans, promotional recaps, food program progress, creative briefs and presentations to senior leadership. Ensures field creative marketing materials undergo brand and legal review. Prepares written communications such as marketing plans, food analysis, creative briefs, meeting recaps and project recommendations. Prepares content for sections of the company website. May develop agendas and distribute promotion & category meeting minutes.
- Leads implementation of marketing & category projects, programs, products and promotions. Participates in the ongoing generation of new marketing, category and business development programs. Analyzes consumer and market data and reports findings to support marketing & category strategy development. Manages best practice information and coordinates distribution to the field and relevant departments.
- Manages projects to ensure marketing & products progress from inception to execution and delivery. Works closely with retail and field partners and business units to facilitate communication and ensure project integration. Promotes needs of the field marketing & category teams with the field marketing & category manager. Responds to a variety of requests from field marketing, such as calendar promotional queries and answers to operations questions. Assists with business unit programs or products as appropriate. Fosters cross-functional relationships with multiple business units, partners and customers. Provides marketing expertise to cross-functional teams.
- Manages vendor relations, and serves as the primary vendor contact. Ensures that vendor agreements are honored in a timely and cost-effective manner. Resolves vendor conflicts and issues.
- May lead marketing & category activities for a specific business area and ensure communication of its products and programs. May conduct forecasting and demand planning. May analyze marketing efforts through pre- and post-production reports.
- Oversees and coordinates or manages retail initiatives, trade shows, events, ad production and placement, direct marketing, production of communications materials or other marketing & category programs. Develops, manages and recaps giving programs in conjunction with team members from other business units. Coordinates annual field marketing conference.
Summary of Experience
- Progressive Experience in marketing or advertising management 3+ years
- Project management experience 2 year

Basic qualifications for this role are:

- Strong communicator: Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to confidently present objectives and desired outcomes to leadership and cross functional teams. Ability to influence, consult and negotiate without authority to get things done in a timely fashion.
- Project and process management skills: Ability to manage time and budget effectively, including balancing multiple priorities to meet deadlines. Ability to identify or implement systems and process improvements. Self-initiating and results-oriented
