Job Purpose/Overview
This position supports Demand / Pipeline Planning Manager to deliver the team’s objectives/target and drives lean supply chain process / operations.  This position also takes full responsibility to manage the product supply pipeline from factory to customers for products sourced from assigned factories.
This position leads team engagement activities and supports talent development in the supply chain organization through supervising a junior associate.

 


Key Responsibilities
Supporting Team Engagement:

  • Lead the team engagement activities supporting pipeline manager.
  • Support team’s talent development through coaching and supervising a junior associate.

 

Managing Supply Pipeline:

  •  Responsible for customer service level (Target > 99%) to our customers for products sourced from assigned factories.  Factories assigned for this position are the key supply factories that impact on Mars Japan’s business performance significantly (i.e. up to 30% of the total Mas Japan sales volume).
  • Support the demand / pipeline planning manager for the critical supply / critical incidents and minimize business impacts in collaboration with associates at factories and other functions.
  •  Manages supply pipeline independently with minimum supports from the demand / pipeline planning manager.

 

Leading Supply Chain Projects: 

  • Drive supply chain lean projects (i.e. supply chain process improvements, operation improvements etc.) to deliver our fuel for growth target (i.e. cost reduction and/or cash delivery).
  • Lead x-functional supply chain related projects.
  •  

Drive Cross-Functional Collaborations:

  • Play as a supply chain representative to x-functional task force projects.
  • Drives x-functional, x-culture, and x-unit collaborations at the working level


Context and Scope

Supporting Team Engagement and Talent Development:

  • Input to and agree with the Demand / Pipeline Planning manager for key team engagement activities within the team.
  • Agree with the Demand / Pipeline Planning manager on how to support a junior associate and provide day-to-day support to a junior associate.

 
Managing Supply Pipeline:

  • Decide replenishment volume for products sourcing from assigned factories.
  • Input future supply pipeline risks to supply chain team associates and drive preventive actions.
  • Decide actions required to resolve supply chain pipeline issues. 

 

Leading Supply Chain Projects:

  • Decide how to drive supply chain process/operation improvements for projects agreed with the Demand / Pipeline Planning manager.
  • Recommend the ideal safety stock target level for products and the roadmap to the target to the Demand / Pipeline Planning manager.

 

Drive X-Functional Collaborations:

  • Input critical supply chain information to x-functional taskforce project to deliver projects successfully.
  • Recommend necessary actions required for the x-functional projects in relates to the total supply chain process/operations.

 


Relevant Quantitative and Budget Information

Staff: 2 dotted reporting
Other: Manages Petcare SPT and Snackfood Business supply pipeline with the total # of SKUs of approx. 330 with 7 major factories.

1. Education & Professional Qualification

  • BA
  • English (Business Level / TOEIC > 800)

 

2. Knowledge/Experience

  • Supply Chain Management Skills
  • Supply Planning / Inventory Management / Cost Management Experience
  • SAP Experience
