Eaton Mission Systems, formally Cobham Mission Systems, is seeking a Master Planner/Scheduler. This is a Hybrid-Remote role (2 days from home after an initial training period), and can be based out of our Orchard Park, NY or Westminster, MD location. Sponsorship is not available! The Orchard Park facility has approximately 400 employees and is a leader in the design, manufacture, and test of high precision Aerospace components. Position Overview: The Master Planner/Scheduler is functionally responsible for the planning/scheduling of manufacturing Sales orders and work orders, with knowledge of component and finished goods, using capacity management and procurement lead times in support of the plants production requirements. This person will also support Sales, Inventory, Operations, and Planning (SIOP) and eventually lead SIOP at the site. Adheres to standard processes for the department as established by site leadership and/or divisional strategies. In this function you will: Manage the Sales orders and forecast at plant level to ensure plant goals are achieved including customer on time performance (OTP: internal Eaton plants and external trade accounts) and sales revenue. Provide promise ship date to customers, ensuring that the MS meets the customers’ required or promised deliveries regarding their requirements; review performance gaps with production management on a timely basis Lead the Sales Inventory Operations Planning (SIOP) process for plant. Leverage SIOP discipline to support plant planning processes, monitor scheduling plan vs. actual to identify performance gaps for mid-month SIOP review /adjustment Reviews safety stock finished goods levels and build plan to ensure we meet the required stock levels for key customers and maintain the profit plan inventory levels. Obtain information from Customer Service and Operations for material planning and forecasting related to scheduling, coordinate New Product Introduction and ECO (change process) Calibrate plant Master Schedule tool to align with available capacity; Monitor actual lead time to review the feasibility of plant rough cut capacity; review gaps with management and at SIOP Maintain parameters and data in the ERP system to reflect changes in manufacturing order parameters, inventory parameters, plant shift calendar, and future schedule of assigned product lines; Ensure the plant equipment and resources are optimized. Disciplined use of system to execute tool, plan materials and capacity. Monitor work order transactions; take action as applicable for work orders not closed as required so as to optimize Oracle planning tool and plant resources. Analyze effectiveness of activities performed within Materials/Production functions to recommend areas of improvement. Enable production planner to optimize factory planning process for manufactured components and sub-assemblies Formulate and administer guidelines for finished goods stocking levels, including safety stock, in support of customer contracts and manufacturing efficiency. Maintain inventory levels & dollars within established goals Develop personal objectives in alignment with Plant Goals to assist in achieving plant objectives, including Compliance with Quality and MESH: Health, Safety & Environmental Policies When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution and 5+ years of planning/scheduling experience Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation Preferred Qualifications: Leadership/Management experience preferred 2+ years experience with implementation knowledge of JIT/VMI procurement Experience in a manufacturing environment involving materials management, planning and scheduling, or the supervision of those functions APICS certified candidates (CSCP and or CPIM) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong manufacturing systems experience: Kanban/Pull, MRPII, Excel Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts Professional APICS Certification preferred (CSCP and or CPIM) Knowledge of ERP system, Oracle (or like) preferred; including establishing Planning/scheduling configurations in a MTO environment Successful track record of balancing service levels and inventory Solid understanding of the financial aspects of inventory management Excellent communication and written skills with an ability to effectively interact at all levels We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
