Purpose:

The Master Planner plans and prepares production master plan to maximize plant efficiencies and utilize foundry facilities effectively while meeting customer demands and company objectives.

Nature and Scope

The Master Planner reports to the Plant Manager, This individual prepares pouring and processing schedules that effectively utilize foundry facilities and resources in order to achieve overall company objectives.

This individual prepares, and periodically updates detailed daily schedules for pouring, core, molding, and finishing utilizing foundry facilities at an optimum level, achieve production goals and meet customer delivery dates. This individual summarizes, and updates, a monthly production forecast stated in tons and heats per day. This individual participates in department meetings to keep abreast of new developments and changes affecting the daily schedules and monthly plans.

The Master Planner’s major challenge is to meet the established production, processing and shipping plans by developing and adjusting daily schedules to compensate for unforeseen production problems or meet changing customer requirements. This individual is challenged to maintain accurate casting inventory records to ensure that items on order are available to meet the monthly plans and delivery requirements.

This individual coordinates the work of several departments and compensates for fluctuation in work mix and customer priorities in establishing the master plan, but refers any changes in the original plan to Plant Manager. This individual should familiar with specific manufacturing procedures and established company goals. This individual should operate within the constraints of facility capabilities, resources and established production and shipping plans.

This individual works closely with the production manager and quality to coordinate the sale order completed schedules, resolving problems and making necessary adjustments to maintain established production plans. The incumbent frequently works with the Shipping Department to coordinate processing of orders to meet the established shipping schedule.

The master planner’s performance is best measured by the ability to plan, schedule and coordinate production, processing and shipping to meet established monthly plans and achieve company goals. This individual’s performance is also measure by the accuracy of records and inventories that ensure goods availability to meet customer requirements.

Principal Accountabilities

• Plan, develop, and revise schedules and forecasts to ensure the achievement of production goals and established delivery dates.

• Work closely with global sales team through daily job and routine sales meeting.

• Prepare Master Plan ensure effective and efficient utilization of facilities and resources.

• Drives quality, delivery, compliance, cost reduction, and other key performance indicators.

• Maintain accurate inventories of transfer castings and production castings to verify processing and production’s progress to plan.

• Work closely with each of the departments to ensure production goals are being met and customer shipments are being finished and ready for shipment on-schedule.

• Trend, analyze and report receipt, production and sales data on a periodic basis.

• Strictly follow company policies of environment and Occupational Health and Safety, and assist to achieve department and company goals of environment and Occupational Health and Safety.

• Other tasks assigned by plant manager.

  
  

  Position Qualifications

  ? Four-year college degree in Engineering or related field or four (4) years of equivalent education and two (2) to four (4) years of applicable experience including applicable computer software.

  ? This position requires extensive knowledge of foundry process procedures and equipment capabilities and limitations.

  ? The incumbent should possess math aptitude and strong organizational skills.

  ? Scheduling experience and knowledge of inventory techniques is helpful. The person should have excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

  ? Good computer skills.

  ? SAP experiences is preferred.
