Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION This position is responsible for coordinating all demand with sending sites, and providing a plan at order receipt taking into account level loading, capacity, strategic inventory (buffer stock); working on planning initiatives, etc. The Individual on this role is the focal point for customer calls and shipment status. Responsible for managing and scheduling independent demand orders; balancing plant and supplier capacities and resources. Responsible for establishing and maintaining the Master Production Schedule within the material Requirements Planning System (MFG Pro) ensuring correct requirements generation and flow down. Key member of the Sales, Inventory and Operational Planning (SIOP) process team, helping to balance current and forecasted customer requirements and plant production schedules. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Balances current and future customer demand requirements with manufacturing and supplier capabilities/capacities to ensure completion of customer requirements Creates the Master Production Schedule in the MRP system to generate requirements for manufactured and purchased parts while ensuring desired inventory levels are maintained Acts as a tie breaker between customer service and manufacturing: Reviews new sales order requests and provides a feasible promise dates to customer service before the orders are promised Analyzes data, including enterprise requirements planning information and prepares reports as needed to facilitate and recommend actions to ensure optimal supply chain execution Reviews planning parameters in order execution systems (such as MFGPro) to ensure proper order generation Coordinates with supply Chain, Manufacturing and Customer Service groups to maintain plant-wide production scheduling information Assists materials planning group in analyzing the need for and size of strategic inventories to meet customer demand fluctuations Determines appropriate Master Schedule time fences at the site and ensures that production schedules are level loaded and that plant output is as linear as possible while customer service levels are maximized Monitors MPS stability, tracks reasons for schedule changes and ensures that root causes for schedule volatility are being resolved Deploys a common SIOP process across the division that is based on the Eaton 5 step methodology Facilitates the divisional demand planning meetings, the supply planning process, the financial reconciliation and the final SIOP plan review Works with the divisional leadership team to manage product cross qualifications across the division and facilitates the decision to acquire internal/external capacity to balance demand & supply Facilitates cross functional activities to resolve demand and capacity imbalances before the operations are impacted and presents potential solutions during the SIOP meeting for approval Conducts and presents 'what if' scenarios to analyze the impact of taking on additional demand before customer commitments are made Deploys rough-cut capacity planning methodology across the division. Replace the annual profit planning forecast process with a 18 month rolling SIOP plan Ensure that the SIOP plan is converted into sales volumes and drives the financial forecast and that the SIOP plan is loaded timely into the plant ERP systems to drive the MPS RRSA process #LI-AR7 Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE 3-5 years of related experience. 3-5 years’ experience within a manufacturing setting. Experience scheduling and planning of manufacturing processes. Bilingual English/ Spanish Good communication skills Knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation process logic.
