Your Master’s thesis supports the development of a monitoring system which assesses the quality of manufacturing processes by analyzing data from machine tools Your task is to design software architecture which enables developers to automatically convert offline analysis algorithms into apps which run in real time on a Siemens Edge device You will design the specifications for the structure of developers’ algorithms, and create libraries and scripts to generate a configurable app and install it in the Edge runtime environment So that developers can test the generated apps you will create a simple simulation of the runtime environment, and you will validate it by running the apps on a real Edge device connected to a robot What you need to make real what matters. You are currently enrolled in a technical or scientific Master’s degree program, e.g. computer science or mechanical engineering You have experience in designing software architecture and you can plan in a top-down way Personally, you impress us with a high level of initiative, analytical thinking as well as a structured and independent way of working You have good skills in python, and possibly C++ or java, and you practice clean code development You have good English and/or German skills.
