Scope of Role:

In this role as a CNC Programmer, you will craft set-up sheets and programs following specific procedures to produce precision parts and fixtures used in the manufacturing process.

We also need you to be capable of programming and running 3, 4, and 5 axis mills, as well as lathes to extremely tight tolerances.

 

Major Responsibilities

  • This position will cover the first shift of 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
  • You will create 3, 4, & 5 axis mill and lathe programs using Mastercam software
  • Select tooling and create set-up sheets
  • Assist machinists in troubleshooting, editing programs
  • Set-up and operate 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC machines with limited supervision
  • Follow instruction on routers and drawings and use proper methods of producing a quality part
  • Use standard measuring devices, CMM, surface plates to verify accuracy and quality of work
  • Align with ISO 9001 and follows Standard Operating Procedures
  • Conduct first piece checks with QA sign off
  • You will maintain work quality with minimal supervision
  • May fabricate tooling and fixtures from drawings
  • May initiate and assist in developing practical solutions with engineering on problem jobs based on knowledge and expertise
  • Set-up and operation of equipment in Machine Shop
  • Work cross functionally to define processes, tooling and fixtures
  • Learn to manufacture all fixtures from start to finish if required
  • Depending on level, may be asked to act as trainer/mentor

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree, or an Associate Degree + 3 years of experience
  • We require a proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • We need 3+ years programming experience using Mastercam (preferably Mastercam 19) and Solidworks Macro programming as well as 3+ years of experience in precision machining.
  • Work and collaborate as part of a larger team.
