Material Handler – API Pilot Plant The Material Handler for the API Pilot Plant is responsible for executing activities communicated by the area supervisor in a timely manner while maintaining the highest levels of compliance and quality. These activities include but are not limited to, staging, moving, transferring, and destroying materials which include raw materials, intermediates or API (potent and non-potent). The Material Handler may also serve as support to manufacturing operations including equipment cleaning and equipment operation. The Material Handler will work with the API Coordinators, warehouse and shift supervisors, Quality Assurance, and other AbbVie groups to accomplish all objectives and responsibilities. Responsibilities: • Learn and follow department policies, procedures and guidelines. Complete documentation and supporting data per cGMP policies, procedures, and guidelines. • Maintain a safe and clean work environment. • Develop systematic work habits that show effective organizational skills. • Support processing requirements following supervisory instruction. • Maintains a safe working environment. Completes all required EHS and hazardous material handling training. • Supports commodity management for the plant including stocking, staging and completing cycle counts. • Stages materials for manufacturing and returns items to inventory post-manufacturing. • Effectively utilize the inventory management system. Qualifications Qualifications: • High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Bachelors or Associates Degree in a scientific related field is desirable. • Job requires basic technical or mechanical background and knowledge. • Must have ability to: 1. Read, understand, and follow verbal and written operating instructions and the processes and flows described on equipment/computer monitors; 2. Write at a level sufficient enough to explain deviations or mistakes in process; 3. Add, subtract, divide, multiply, use decimals and fractions, recognize and measure proportions, and do basic algebraic math at an intermediate level of competency. • Display mechanical aptitude and be able to follow written and verbal directions. • Forklift experience highly desired.
