How will you make an impact?
The Material Handler role is responsible for managing material and material initiatives in the Process Development laboratories. Functions include but are not limited to the picking, storing, inventory, and receipt of biological and non-biological materials. The support functions allow the functional groups to perform activities efficiently, reducing the time to deliver life-changing therapies to patients.
This is a full-time position: 40 hrs./wk. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a 1 hour lunch. Occasional overtime for evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
What will you do?
- Primary functions are ordering, receiving, storing, and maintaining inventory of materials for use in PD laboratories.
- Includes materials stored at refrigerated (2-8°C) and ultra-low temperatures (-80°C and liquid nitrogen vapor (-130°C)).
- Participate in inventory maintenance activities such as reorganization and physical counts.
- Work includes the use of an electronic inventory management system (Kanban) including scanning of QR codes.
- Monitor activity in material storage rooms to ensure compliance with procedures.
- Transport materials, supplies, etc. between storage areas and production rooms.
- Complete all work in compliance with GDP regulations and established VVS procedures including contemporaneous documentation of all activities in legible English.
- Work independently and with team members to complete all tasks each day including receipt of materials, ordering, and storage.
- Data entry using Smartsheet is required as well as email communication using Outlook.
- Other supporting duties as assigned.
How will you get here?
Through training and instruction to ensure candidate is put in a position to succeed. To have a clear path and expectation of all duties and functions. Training will be through different applications such as ComplianceWire, Work Instructions, EtQ, and classroom led courses (when applicable).
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
- 1 year of related experience preferred
- Inventory management experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
- Meet physical demands associated with job functions (lifting up to 20 lbs., lifting 20+ lbs. with assistance, walking between buildings, etc.)
- Wearing appropriate PPE when working in laboratories
- Material management preferred
