Material Handler Position Overview Siemens Large Drives Applicaitons in Norwood, Ohio is looking for an experienced Material Handler. In this role you will prepare, store, load, unload, receive, put away, and assist in all material movement and storage functions. May need to completely skid and load motors for shipment. This is a 1st shift position and is a part of a local union. Responsibilities Receive, verify, and visually inspect incoming material against the packing list or traveler. Store and index all materials as necessary. Receive, transport, store, and supply all stationary supplies as necessary. Prepare all materials for receipt or shipment including, but not limited to, tagging, boxing, skidding, and verification of pertinent information. Use computer (PC) to manage inventory (Kanban) bins/locations Use computer (PC) to find inventory to determine location and verify quantities. Execute transactions in computer (PC) to record inventory quantities, locations, and movements. Fill material, identify missing parts and components and fulfill disbursements as required, including bar code scanning or manual entry into computer using SAP or other ERP system. Maintain KANBAN areas Perform cycle counts, as required. Issue and pre-stage material according to pick lists for assembly. Perform duties to support final assembly, stator assembly or machine shop or perform all shipping duties to include skidding, crating, loading, indoor and outdoor crane operation. Knowledge of material flow lanes and storage locations in plant to ensure materials are picked, delivered, recorded promptly and accurately without damage to materials, plant and equipment or other persons. Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience High School diploma or equivalent Must have the physical ability to perform work required Must be able to read and understand bills of material, packing lists, and bills of lading. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations Ability to operate various powered hand tools – (drills,nail guns, etc.) Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience Prior experience in a warehouse setting. Prior experience working with RF Guns. Prior Forklift experience preferred.
