Job Description
Eaton’s Electrical Sector - Canada is currently seeking a Material Planner in our EPC (Edmonton Power Centre) facility. This position is based at our Edmonton, AB location. Position Overview: The Material Planner will provide support to the Supply Chain Supervisor in analyzing, establishing, and executing the planning, ordering, and scheduling of material to meet the production schedule, including internally and externally sourced parts, as well as ensure an acceptable level of material is available to support the manufacturing and sales products for the Edmonton Power Center. In this function you will: Analyze, prioritize and communicate shortages to the manager and escalate expediting to ensure schedules are met. Ensure the accuracy of the locators and material locations. Prepare for the physical inventory Run reports to make sure the promise dates are updated in Oracle and invoices for materials are received. Communicate with the Financial Service Center (FSC) to clear on-hold invoices in Markview’s AP (Canada) web box and personal inbox in a timely manner to avoid supply interruptions or penalties. Set up item master and update standard costs. Return materials back to vendors/suppliers. Investigate material discrepancies, inaccuracies in BOM/DJ and Balance on Hand (BOH) from cycle counts. Entering orders into US Vista. Managing and scheduling orders accordingly. Flexible with working overtime and weekends as needed. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Completion of High School or GED equivalent from an accredited institution is required. At least one (1) year of purchasing or logistics in a computerized MRP environment. Knowledge of purchasing techniques and supplier management with intermediate computer skills especially in MS Office and database management. Preferred Qualifications: Oracle knowledge is preferred APICS certificate or SCMP designation preferred. Position Criteria: Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision Strong problem-solving expertise with excellent time management capabilities. Effective communication, planning, and organizational skills. Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills is required. Why work at Eaton?
