Role Responsibilities & Tasks

Facilitate Technical Collaboration with Partners

• Maintain collaborative relationships with supplier(s) while effectively resolving supplier performance/capability issues to ensure alignment with Micron's strategic direction
• Facilitate co-development activities and technical roadmap collaboration with suppliers that identify gaps in supplier capability in both technology and supply.
• Coordinate with supplier safety issues (e.g. process hazards, maintenance procedures)
• Facilitate Executive level reviews with suppliers which address commercial and technical needs to enable technologies required for Micron’s roadmap
• Provide technical support for onsite technical and quality assessments

Source and Select Suppliers to Meet Technical and Cost Requirements

• Participate in Procurement Sourcing Strategies (including creation through partner input, communication, and execution)
• Assist with aligning partners to strategic sourcing goals
• Drive sourcing requirements and supplier selection through decision matrix in support of technology development, cost reduction, and quality improvement efforts
• Pursue technically viable suppliers and partner with stakeholders to assess Supply Chain risk for new sources
• Provide category-level analysis to influence sourcing decisions and ensure supplier meets the needs of customer, including Total Cost of Ownership, quality, performance and technical requirements

Partner in Negotiation Processes to Enable Future Cost Structures

• Lead negotiations with suppliers for strategic sourcing/RFQ events
• Utilize cost modeling and other analytical techniques to drive negotiation process for business improvements
• Ensure all new business awards and opportunities are coordinated to use global technical needs
• Participate in contract negotiations for new suppliers and negotiate upfront Total Cost of Ownership commitments for time based reductions
• Select/Influence BOM (Bill of Material) choices to ensure best in class pricing and supply continuity.

Build and Maintain Strong Supplier and Business Relationships

• communicate Technology Roadmap Requirements and interact with Micron and Supplier executives
• Support Micron Supplier Qualification Process, segment suppliers and setting strategic goals based on technical capabilities
• Prepare and Communicate Procurement Transfer Packages (where applicable) and also understand new technology and ensure supply is capable of meeting future requirements
• Make certain agreed supplier covenants are transferred into long term business engagement processes that drive accountability for performance to those commitments
• Communicate Total Cost of Ownership projections,commitments and coordinate Forecast Projections associated with new technology deployment

Education

Bachelor’s Degree or Master's Degree or equivalent experience - Business Administration/Management/Engineering/ any Related field of study

• Strong technical and market knowledge of Category
• Working as part of a Category team in an engineering capacity
• Interactions with customer/service orientation
• Naturally proactive and collaborates with many sites and customer needs
• Growth attitude, solution oriented and works independently, in a small team environment or/and with a cross functional team
• Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with outstanding negotiation experience

Qualifications

We are looking for you to have, 4 years experience in any of the following:

• Engineering, Purchasing/Procurement/ Supplier/Partner Relations, Supply Chain/ Technical knowledge or engineering background (Bachelors or equivalent)
