Job Duties:

• Partner with Merchandising team and Product Development teams - local and overseas - to ensure textile materials (including PU/PVC) strategy and supply chain is aligned with company’s business objectives

• Investigate textile fashion trends of accessories industry to support supplier innovation and designer’s inspiration through such as visiting Textile fairs and suppliers, etc., could provide suggestion of creation and innovation.

• Check and validate all the details before starting sourcing and/or developing the requested material.

• Be able to compare different suppliers to identify the most competitive one and consult with manager for project allocation to the suppliers according to company’s sourcing strategy.

• Monitor commodity prices trends to negotiate price achieving competitive cost.

• Negotiate MOQ, surcharge and lead-time, while keeping all these information available and updated.

• Investigate technical and quality problems and coordinate closely with internal/ external parties to ensure smooth resolution.

• Maintain strong business relationships with textile suppliers for product development and production to attain high-level service from suppliers.

• Create, maintain and constantly update the material archive/library.

• Work in tandem with Product Development teams and follow raw materials teams in arranging Proto and SMS making to make sure delivery on time with right quality and right quantity.

• Be involved in bulk material production to monitor quality, proactively propose solutions in case of problems.

• Participate in the maintenance and upkeep of the PVH Global Technics and quality manuals & standards.

• Support to build up effective tools for sourcing tracking.

• Continuously monitor supplier performance through establishment of KPI reporting tools.

Requirements:

• Associate degree or above.

• At least 7 years solid textile/PU/PVC sourcing experience of which at least 3 years in Accessories or Footwear

• Strong technical background and understanding of textile materials quality and manufacturing such as spinning, weaving, dyeing, printing, finishing, bonding, etc.

• Excellent color perception and good understanding of color theory related to textile

• Clear understanding of US and Asia Testing requirements. Well know textile testing, quality standards and inspection procedures.

• Mature, responsible, self-motivated, detail-minded, organized and able to work independently as well as part of a team & under pressure.

• Strong in negotiation and presentation skills

• Strong eye for trend/fashion

• Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese

• Overseas travelling may be required.

• Candidates with more experience may be offered as Senior Merchandiser.
