1. Understanding and expertise with Carbon steels, Stainless steels, Aluminum, Copper alloys,
Precious metals and Ceramic materials.

2. Provide material related technical expertise to product,process, design, manufacturing and simulation for Powertrain automotive components.

3. Select and approve materials for use in Powertrain automotive applications.

4. Develop new materials and improve existing materials used in production.

5. Schedule and perform materials tests & competitive analysis. Issue reports according to Delphi Technologies and customer’s requirements.

6. Perform material analysis on field returns and test failures in materials laboratory.

7. Generate material laboratory quality documentation.

8. Apply current standards and procedures for Innovation & Continuous Improvement.

9. Monitor technical developments in the industry, researc institutes and national laboratories in area of application of novel materials for Powertrain applications.

Qualification:

1. Master’s degree in Materials Engineering/ Metallurgy or Ceramics (R)

2. Expertise in metallurgy and especially steel alloys including their processes and technologies (R)

4. An understanding of Ceramic materials and their processing. (R)

5. Expertise in failure analysis and samples preparation optical microscopy, SEM, EDX, micro-hardness (R)

6. 1-3 years’ experience working within materials science and with product/process applications. (R)

8. Good oral and written communication skills (R)

9. Ability to speak/write English (R)

10. High level of analytical skills and creativity in problem solving. (R)

11. Commitment to team-work. (R)

12. Effective computer skills. (R)

13. Readiness to travel (P)

14. Experience in robust engineering, 6 sigma or similar problem solving/ prevention methods (P)
