Job Description
Eaton’s Vehicle division is currently seeking a Materials Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Aguascalientes facility. The Materials Manager is responsible for the overall management direction and coordination of the materials function. Ensures through delegation of authority to key staff members the attainment of production objectives at the lowest cost consisted with customer and quality requirements. Enhance knowledge of supply chain operations. Lead SCM team to drive best practices. Demonstrate knowledge of business trends and economic cycles to implement materials planning strategies. Some activities related with the position will be: Initiate, support and lead continuous improvement activities within the department. Schedule, lead and communicate departmental priorities with the team and coordinate activities with other functions within the plant. Lead the training and development of the materials team members and conduct performance evaluations which include having concise development plans for the team. Establishes optimum Inventory levels to ensure On Time Deliveries to meet the customer requirements while minimizing carrying costs and premium transportation costs Support the coordination of manpower requirements across the shifts based on production requirements, equipment capabilities, utilization and plant needs. Coordinate material planning with SCM at the Division level to ensure proper alignment with the company’s overall strategy. Lead the team in the plant’s cost out activities aligned with the plant’s overall strategic plan objectives. Establishes and maintains operational areas of receiving, material handling, warehouse, shipping by insuring efficiency, quality of work, process adherence and in a safe manner. Leads the logistics activities for the plant including inbound and outbound, cost out objectives and trade compliance. This is accomplished by maintaining approved carrier compliance, defining standard routings and schedules while maintaining customer shipping requirements. Work closely with the plant production team to ensure proper flow of material through the plant. Supports cost savings and control by minimizing impact of CONC including premium freight and E&O, reduce materials disruptions to production, improving MRO spend and effective maintains budget for the department. Leads all aspects of the ERP system and ensure controls are in place to establish the correct BOM structure, material routings, transaction accuracy, inventory integrity to allow for accurate aggregations of supply and demand. Responsible for overall data integrity of the ERP system in support of maintain strong ERP Health performance. Apply lean concepts to positively impact the total value chain process Demonstrate knowledge of business trends and economic cycles to implement materials planning strategies. Demonstrate execution ability on cost, quality and delivery. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution At least 5 years of work experience At least 3 years of experience in Supply Chain, logistics, materials, inventory control, production planning, or shipping/receiving At least 1 year of experience managing people Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship Must have good verbal and written communication skills in English Spanish Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Engineering Master of Science degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Operations from an accredited institution Prior experience with shop floor inventory control or manufacturing operations optimization APICS CSCP or CPIM Certification Proficiency in Oracle ERP/MRP planning and/or purchasing modules Position Success Criteria: Demonstrated strong leadership, communication and team building skills. Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office.
