Eaton’s Corporate Sector is currently seeking a Materials Manager to join our team. This position is based at our La Grange, NC location. Position Overview: This position requires ability to direct, establish and control plant internal and external materials management strategies and processes and therefore must have skills in managing all supply chain related functions of the plant. The incumbent must be capable of procurement/purchasing, production planning/scheduling, material handling/warehouse, material flow and logistics. In this function you will: Implement methods, practices and techniques to ensure the most economical movement of materials through the supply chain to achieve cost-effective logistics practices and inventory levels while meeting customer delivery requirements Manage and develop team members, implement and maintain performance metrics Monitor and manage incoming order backlog for exceptions and variability of demand Develop and facilitate recovery plans with production as needed Drive continuous improvement of all Supply Chain workflows and processes Coordinate Division Supply Chain Functions to provide data and participate on projects to drive best practices across Division/Eaton Why work at Eaton? Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required Minimum of 5 years of experience developing and controlling production schedules and inventory levels is required Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership role with direct reports is required This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future Preferred qualifications: Master’s in Business Administration or Supply Chain from an accredited institution. Advanced capability with MS Excel Experience/Education in forecasting, product line structures, and business cycles Experience coordinating, implementing, and continually improving computerized scheduling system Experience with Continuous Improvement Teams & Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement Kaizen Leadership Experience coordinating physical inventory Experience with SAP Experience initiating and monitoring cycle counting procedure to inspect and insure inventory on-hand accuracy Experience with marketing and engineering systems Position Criteria: Proven analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a matrix environment, get results and drive change through others. Effective oral and written communication skills as well as planning and organizational skills.
