Eaton’s Aerospace Division is currently seeking a Materials Planner to join our team. This position is based at our Westminster, MD facility. Position Overview: The Materials Planner works with manufacturing operations, procurement, engineering and quality for assigned value streams to execute planning activities in line with defined lean inventory, production and procurement strategies for materials, managing capacity planning and scheduling for production and / or purchased materials. In this role, you will: Planning and scheduling of material in accordance with the needs of the master production schedule (MPS). Coordinate/work closely with procurement and business administration to ensure timely throughput of product. Expedite and communicate issues in a timely basis. Conduct finite capacity planning and scheduling of internal manufacturing operations in accordance with the needs of the MPS, producing & releases internal work orders schedules & monitor performance to plan. Develops production schedules for internal manufacturing operations for a series of production Workcenters to achieve the requirements of the master production schedule. Optimizes capacity, with minimal inventory and to ensure delivery to our customers on time. Strategically sets and manages all planning elements (parameters/rules) associated with all assigned manufactured parts, and coordinates any outside processing associated with those parts. Work with Engineering to identify alternatives supporting production requirements while optimizing cost & inventory reductions. Monitoring shrinkage, yield, BOM accuracy, scrap factors to support cross functional continuous improvement projects. Plan and sequence material inflows in such a way as to maintain inventory at planned levels while applying SOF principles to ensure that inventories are sized and balanced at the optimum levels throughout the supply chain. Inventory: responsible for effectively executing functional supply and demand material plans, ensuring right part, right place, right time with minimal inventory. Conducts inactive, obsolete, and surplus analysis on all parts and drives root cause, corrective action and disposition strategy. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Associate’s degree from an accredited institution Minimum two (2) years of experience working in a manufacturing environment Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Westminster, MD facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution Minimum five (5) years of experience working as a planner, scheduler, production control, or buyer within a technology company (ideally mechanical/aerospace) Professional certification in the area of Supply Chain Management (APICS) or regional equivalent Demonstrated knowledge / experience of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and short/medium term capacity requirements.
