The Fuel and Motion Control Systems Division of Eaton’s Aerospace Group has an opening for a Materials Planner. The Senior Planner position will be based in Euclid, Ohio. Position Overview: The Materials Planner is responsible for driving on-time delivery through material flow planning, and ensuring optimal scheduling of production and delivery. The Euclid facility has approximately 300 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of aerospace main engine fuel pumps and components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets. In this function, you will: Develop and maintain daily production schedule for one or more manufacturing cells, using kanban and work center load analysis to create even volume of work. Maintain ownership of work order population, effectively communicate and act on upcoming, past due and non-intact work orders. Collaborate with the Value Stream Manager to project material availability and create constrained build plans based on promise dates of outside supply and plant capacity. Demonstrate high levels of engagement with assigned Value Stream Teams, including daily stand-up meetings and continuous improvement activities. Schedule/initiate subassembly and/or outside process procurement while providing manufacturing support through expediting effort. Monitor inventory transactions to assure material is being processed in an accurate and timely manner. Identify and communicate potential delays and/or problems to internal customers which may impede finished goods delivery. Minimize manufacturing shortages and inventory investment while meeting commitments to customer orders, in support with the plant objectives and goals. Manage rejected material from Customers, suppliers, and feeder cells which impact the work orders of the cell(s). Maintain high levels of communication with all departments to ensure optimum flow of materials and information status through production phases. Leads and participates in Lean Planning efforts to tightly align supply to demand throughout the plant, focusing on work order integrity, production center load, finite schedule attainment, and WIP inventory reduction. Analyzes data, including enterprise requirements planning information (material, work order, work center, inventory, forecast) and prepares consolidated managerial reports as needed to facilitate and recommend actions to improve plant/product line supply chain execution. Leads and participates on manufacturing cell improvement teams, driving the continuous improvement of operations by setting/communication goals, team building, and analysis. Supports and leads actions necessary to attain SIOP maturity, such as data collection, demand evaluation, fulfillment measurement, and integration assessment. Position Criteria: Full knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation process logic. Thorough understanding of Materials Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, scheduling, purchasing, and inventory control. Detailed knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Process Variation Reduction (Six Sigma) concepts and tool sets as they relate to materials management. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from accredited institution. Minimum 1 year supply chain experience. This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management. Knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation process logic. Experience with cross-functional process improvement teams. Experience operating within a mature SIOP environment. High level of analytical skills unitizing ERP data, identifying trends and exceptions. CPIM certification Prior knowledge in machining within the aerospace industry.
