Objective: The Import/Export Specialist is responsible to ensure the compliant and efficient performance of all Import- Export operations for all Siemens El Salvador transactions. Profile: Bachelor’s degree required: International Business, Commerce or Administration. Experience: minimum of 3 years of experience in international trade and customs laws in multinational business or El Salvador Customs. Strong working knowledge and understanding in customs legislation in El Salvador. Demonstrated independent troubleshooting and problem solving. Advanced Computer database and spreadsheet experience. Demonstrated ability to focus on project work and efficiently bring projects to completion Ability to influence others and interpret government regulations Import / Export transactions experience, HTS classification knowledge and FTA usage Functions: Operational strategy deployment and alignment within Customs-SV: Ensure customs processing & Customs Broker coordination for all import /export operations performed by Siemens SV (air, land & sea), and correct FTA´s usage. Ensure adherence to Corporate and legal record retention policies, ensuring the documental/transactional compliance and availability of import/export trade related files. Ensure full control of definitive and temporary import/export operations, and their pre-filing conformance in coordination with Customs Brokers. Ensure operational trade compliance effectiveness and timely report of risks associated with the Import-Export operations. Ensure that the customs brokers are adhering to all aspects of Standard Operating Procedures, address and follow through or any corrective actions needed. Ensure Import/Export declarations’ review prior to duty payment. Make sure Import/Export declarations fully comply with local Customs regulations, application of correct HS Codes, import duties, descriptions, costs, etc. Knowledge of local Customs regulations and procedures to ensure effective interaction with local Customs authorities.
