The University of New South Wales UF Sino-Australian High School Program is proud to have launched their newest campus located in Haimen, Nantong, approximately 90 minutes north of Shanghai. We are seeking to hire one Subject Teacher for the fall semester. The teacher will teach the Math and Computing courses of the University of New South Wales Foundation Program, the country's top ranked Australian offshore high school program.

A pilot cohort of approximately 35 students has been enrolled in the first year and their 10th grade course of study includes Chinese subject course requirements, English ESL/Language Arts and IELTS classes (6.0 score must be achieved by middle of 11th Grade to continue studies). Their 11th and 12th Grade course of study will primarily consist of Australian subject classes provided by the University of New South Wales in a full English immersion environment. Please read below for more specific program information. This is a direct-hire position by the host program.

Introduction
The University of New South Wales UF High School Program is the #1 ranked offshore Australian program in China. The program is the largest source of undergraduate students from China for the Australian G8 with nearly 95% of its graduates being admitted to the G8 over the program's history. Over 350 students from the program were admitted to Melbourne, Monash, UNSW and Sydney in 2022. Program campuses are currently located in Nanjing, Wuxi, Hangzhou, Xi'an, Suzhou (Kunshan), Xuzhou and Nantong (Haimen).

The program is the only one in China that integrates an overseas university's postgraduate foundation program with public high school curriculum. This has been made possible due to the traditionally high achievement and academic background of the partner schools and their respective students. Entering Senior 1 students (Grade 10) must be eligible and have the aptitude to handle an accelerated course of study completing all local and foreign high school credit classes in only five semesters.

Prior to the final year of studies, students apply for one of three study streams offered: Commerce, Physical Science and Design. The Design Stream is the only program in the country offered to Chinese high school students interesting in pursuing university studies in Architecture, Urban Planning, Visual Arts and other related majors.

Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree (visa regulation).
• Minimum 2 years relevant teaching experience (visa regulation).
• TESOL, TEFL, CELTA or equivalent is a requirement for all English positions. Please contact us if you require clarification about your credentials.
• Ability to work cooperatively and diplomatically with students, parents, faculty, staff, and administration in a foreign cultural environment.
• Ability to engage students in learning.
• Ability to have degree authenticated through local Chinese embassy/consulate (visa requirement)
• Ability to obtain a clean police background check from ANY jurisdiction where you have lived.

Responsibilities
•Projected 18-20 class periods a week (45min periods)
• Assign and promptly mark class work, homework, tests and assignments.
•Be available and provide appropriate feedback to students regarding progress and encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
•Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
•Prepare and promptly deliver required student reports to the program management and host school
• Communicate with parents, co-workers, and the campus manager about the progress of individual students when necessary.

Mathematics C is a compulsory subject for the Commerce Stream and is worth 10 units of credit.
Students will be introduced to mathematical techniques which are relevant to the real world with an emphasis on applications to areas of commerce and finance. In this subject, students will consider problems requiring the application of knowledge and skills in a range of topics.
Topics: Terms in Mathematics, Basic Number and Algebra Review, The Number Plane, Functions and Graphs, Differential Calculus, Logarithmic and Exponential Functions, Sequences and Series, Further Differential Calculus and Applications, Mathematics of Finance, Integral Calculus, Probability, Data Description and Probability Distributions.

Computing for Academic Purposes Course Description
Computing for Academic Purposes incorporates both a practical and theoretical component that prepares students for success at university.
In Term 1 practical skills are developed using software that is applicable across all disciplines. Theoretical understanding is approached by identifying and critiquing topical technological issues relevant to individuals and society that may impact on their academic, personal and professional lives. Computing for Academic Purposes takes place in a computing laboratory using a hands-on, problem-solving approach. Software covered includes MS Office applications and ancillary tools such as bibliographic software (Mendeley).
In Term 2 topics are tailored to core applications required for disciplinary learning at university.
Commerce and Arts/Social Sciences streams learn more advanced spreadsheet techniques using MS Excel to analyse, manipulate and visualise data. Students will also work in groups to locate, explore and choose appropriate tools and presentation methods to develop and pre
